VN stands for visual novel, and typical visual novel gameplay looks like this: where all story is done through the little text box at the bottom, narrated by the player character while the imagery above shows who’s talking and where (and occasionally what’s happening with CGs like in fe) and that’s really it. Just a slight upgrade from your average novel.
