Oh, and Reverse + Decoy takes him out VERY nicely in FFXII. In fact, FFVIII is the only game where he's really that tough, or so I've heard. I've only faced it in FF5 in which the ONLY possible way to kill it before it kills you is with Spellblade Thundaga, Rapid Fire and hope it doesn't kill you before you set up the attack. Does it look like a robot mech thing in FFX or in FF12? I don't consider Omega Weapon in FF8 as an incarnation of Omega.
