Hatari
Greetings Everyone, I'm new here (obviously since I'm posting here), just wanted to say hi. I'm currently in the middle of shadow dragon and have played blazing sword, sacred stones, path of radiance and radiant dawn. Well, nice meeting everyone, Hatari
Emeraldfox
Hi. Welcome to the forest, Hatari. I'd post an image, but people here have negative feelings about people posting images.

Catnip
Welcome. Because of your name, I have to ask: Do you prefer Nailah or Volug? When it comes to using them as units I'm sure it's fairly obvious, but what about personality-wise?
Hatari
thanks you two, I've been lurking here randomly and decided to finally join and say a few things. Did anyone else in Radiant Dawn push everyone to their final tier (even though most borec's were left at level 1 in their final tier, since I never used them afterwards). Mainly I was curious about their outfits...My final team ended but being a mass of Royals with a super powered Ike and some other people (Soren and Harr <3) Shadow Dragon is a bit more difficult to do that in...Then again, I'm not using the arena's. I never let my people die (except for the decoy) . There has to be an easier way to level up, but I doubt there are enough master seals/whips to go around for everyone anyway. Hatari
Catnip...I like both. Nailah because she's a queen/alpha female with no king/alpha male, that we know of and Volug because he's the silent strong type who supports his people, plus he can become pretty strong with some leveling. Both of their wolf forms are beautiful. Additionally as far as laguz goes these are my favorites: Wolves: Nailah, Volug Birds: Reyson, Tibarn Cats: Ranulf Dragons: Black Dragon Prince (can't spell his name), Rajion (The Black Dragon Prince's dead older brother)

Hero
Welcome to the forest. You know you have to kill people off in FE11 to get the gaiden chapters, right? It's cruel of the developers to put that in after encouraging players not to allow a single death for ten games and nearly twenty years, but they did it anyway. Hatari
Hence the reason why I'm skipping the Gaiden Chapters my first play through. Picking the one player to kill off the first time was hard enough. The old dude had to go though...//sigh

If you're interested in the outfits for 3rd tier character, look up the videos of GoldieX39 on You-tube. You can see the outfits in her battles. Ah, Thanks...Yeah I got everyone third tier in one save the hard way (going to level 21) or using master seals at level 20. Granted, that also means that my bonus experience was close to nil most levels...and my turns were in the hundreds or higher for some chapters...but I got them all in the end. I need to play hard too...haven't done that yet when I think about it. I usually play normal difficulty
Fayt Zelpher
I need to play hard too...haven't done that yet when I think about it. I usually play normal difficulty Better than me. I usually play EM, and am sort of working on a NM playthrough. I can only play on the weekends though since I am in college and I do not have access to a Wii except when I come home. (I live nearby, so I can come home during the weekend.)
Hatari
Ah, that's cool, I usually skip the easy mode since it generally has the tutorials and in most FE games the game play is the same. Strategy is key to everything. Lure enemies close and destroy them. The only complaint I have about shadow dragon right now is that it's difficult to level everyone. At the moment, Marth is completely killer and I'm depending on him way too much. The pegasus knight girl is level 20 right now too...which is a pain since I don't have any whips to promote her either.
Bananas
In PAL regions it's spelled "Hatary". Screw you, Nintendo of Europe. Hello.

Hero
Hello, The translations is definitely an interesting thing...I wonder exactly how much is lost in translations in the games... It's all been documented here. Excluding gameplay tweaks, the official translations have so far mostly just changed names, and most of the changes beyond the names are mistakes. The big exception is, of course, the replacement of FE9's Maniac Mode with an Easy Mode. One reason a lot of people here aren't too enthusiastic about seeing FE4 or FE5 localized is because those games contain more mature themes that would probably have to be deleted or changed. Hatari
Ah, thanks. I guess I need to spend more time reading the site. (I mainly use it for the items) How do you read the class growth charts on the website I could never figure those out. Are they percentages? Fayt Zelpher
Ah, thanks. I guess I need to spend more time reading the site. (I mainly use it for the items) How do you read the class growth charts on the website I could never figure those out. Are they percentages? Yes, those growths are the chance that a character will gain that stat each time he/she gains a level. If the percentage is greater than 100, that character automatically gains +1 and has a (growth rate) - 100 chance of gaining a second point in that stat. The same logic follows for greater than 200, though I don't think any units can get that high without hacking. The maximum is 255, even with hacking, due to computational limitations. Hero
Class growth rates work the same as normal growths when we're talking about enemies in the modern series outside of FE11, I don't know how they work there. In FE11 you add the class growth rates to the character's innate growth rates to get the character's total base growths. After the character levels up, you also include what are called dynamic growth rates, which are explained on the site. They don't have too much of an affect on gameplay as all they do is make it less likely that a character will get RNG screwed in individual stats. Class growth rates (in FE9 and FE10) are used to determine the strengths of the enemies you fight. Each class has its own bases and growths (separate from playable characters and bosses). By combining the class bases with the number of levels that character has gained * class growth rate, you get a general idea of the stats of an enemy of that level and class. Note however, that by general idea, I mean to account both for natural variability of class stats, as well as the fact that some stats have been overridden for that particular unit. For example, I believe that one of the soldiers in FE10 stage 2-2 has 9 luck (instead of 4-5 normally) and one of the level 8 fighters in PoR stage 7 has 1 strength. Hatari
haha, computational problems, yeah computers will eventually get there. 255...the max number a color can take on. I don't hack the games, so I have to go by normal statistics etc.
Fayt Zelpher
I don't hack either, so I have to deal with normal growth rates as well. (though there are a lot that I would love to change). Anyway, does what I said about growth rates make sense?
