Emeraldfox
And make sure you only kill one of his summons. He'll only do his insta-death attack when he's alone.
General Spoon
I didn't have any trouble with him. My party was around level 30, and he didn't give me trouble. He also dropped the royal mane, which I believe may be his rare drop.
Ein
You got the Royal Mane that quickly!? How are you doing so far in the 3rd stratum anyway?
General Spoon
You got the Royal Mane that quickly!? How are you doing so far in the 3rd stratum anyway? I've got some of B11F mapped, and I've found three soldiers on that floor, and got the Old Scroll, and I found a broken axe (is this part of the remembering the fallen quest?). I'm not trying to progress too quickly, as I rested my Lan and Alc right after Cerunos to get better skill builds, and I also decided that while I raised them back up, I would work on my Divinity Troub and a Sword DH. So I started the quest where you spend 5 days on B8F. Hopefully I can find a few more tailbones to get the bone flail while I'm at it. And then I might decide to raise some gathering survivalists and a party Troub. Edited January 29, 2010 by General Spoon
Sanger
So I started the quest where you spend 5 days on B8F. I wouldn't recommend doing it, I tried doing it took hours for 1 day. (If you count fighting the monsters. If your fleeing it would take shorter time but still pretty long. possibly takes 1-2 days or hours IRL) The reward isn't that great. The real reward is the higher levels you get afterward. You know, that spring is there.

Never tried a Sword DH in EO1 but they have access to Bait and Drain which are awesome. I'm guessing you're using that Troubadour just for training easier. You can always rest him/her later if you are going to continue using him/her. The 5 days quest is rather annoying for how long it will take if you're fighting everything. You can always walk in the healing spring area to finish it without fighting any monsters. Um... Emerald is the last boss still giving you trouble...? Emeraldfox
Um... Emerald is the last boss still giving you trouble...? I haven't reached him yet. Still grinding levels and working on money so I can buy Amitra. I figured the equipment my folks have should be enough.
Ein
You're grinding for money on the first Mine point in the 21st right? It's the best way to make money in the game.
Emeraldfox
Noo... I'm killing things and selling the items they drop. I totally didn't forget about the mine on B21. >_>;
