Dr. Tarrasque
What did you unlock after beating Lunatic? ... Damn, 2 criticals required. Wonder if it could've been toned down to 1 critical being needed if Mallesia was replaced by someone to attack Medeus with one of the A ranked weapons. Not going to watch the vid yet because I'm nowhere near there, but what was your ranking? And congrats. Tell us how Lunatic' Reverse mode is. Paperblade
Not going to watch the vid yet because I'm nowhere near there, but what was your ranking? Credits rolling, emulator lagging (probably because I'm recording it)... and... and... ... A in everything? I am... disappointed. I got a bunch of pop ups (probably telling me about stuff I unlocked) that I didn't record. >_> And congrats. Tell us how Lunatic' Reverse mode is. Started a new game really quick in Prologue. I will confirm that: Player Phase is first Enemies always attack first, as though they had FE5 Ambush or FE9 Vantage. Edit: It seems MU starts with 2 Vulnerary now. I don't think this was the case before. He also had D Axes as a Fighter. Double Edit: I can upload a video of it or provide a save state for those interested, but it's 2AM and I have to be up in 5-6 hours for stuff. grandjackal
As if enemies have Ambush on? Well, so much for player phase mattering for anyone without a ranged option.
Dr. Tarrasque
When and if you get to chapter 1, can you see if beating Lunatic mode has unlocked the Reclassing male limit removal and * Extra items in the battle preparations armoury EDIT: Actually, do upload the save. I might be able to warp to any chapter and find the answers myself.. Edited July 24, 2010 by Sirius
fatgamecat
Hmm that is disappointing for sure. Not that your run that I watched so far (up to Ch 5) was bad or anything, but you made it clear you weren't going for perfection with it. Maybe an S rank does exist? It seems unusual that they would stop at A. I'd like to check out lunatic reverse mode.
Dat Nick
Enemies always attack first, as though they had FE5 Ambush or FE9 Vantage. That's fucked up on 20 different levels... ...Should Reverse be considered for Tier lists?
Dunal
That's fucked up on 20 different levels... ...Should Reverse be considered for Tier lists? Perhaps. It would probally change quite a few things though. Ryan would probally be better than the cavs, at least Cecil. And Gordin > Athena? My Unit > Mage/Archer? :P Killing blows would be better dealt by ranged weapons it seems. As well as chip damage. Good luck.
Mekkah
That's fucked up on 20 different levels... ...Should Reverse be considered for Tier lists? Multiple tier lists. Also, since the rank seems to be almost impossible not to fulfill, maybe it's better to only have a split for Reverse. IMO the only requirements needed are all characters recruited and low turn. Or maybe another split for not recruiting all characters, so people like Wolf and Sedgar are skipped.
Soviet Gregor
Aside from all this, I'm glad they didn't ruin the Medeus music.
Paperblade
Just blitzed through normal mode prologue. Male class sets are merged. There is still a limit on how many of each class I can have. The items? Stat boosters. I had 10k and after 3 speedwings they disappeared from the shop. They did not refresh in Chapter 2.
Colonel M
Congrats, glad you beat Lunatic Mode. Any general comments of the run through in general? EDIT: Are you allowed a prep screen before the Final Battle begins? Edited July 24, 2010 by Colonel M
Jaybee
Paperblade, if you had to rank Lunatic as a H__ difficulty, what would that number be? Sorry if this is kind of out of context.
Paperblade
Congrats, glad you beat Lunatic Mode. Any general comments of the run through in general? The speed bar for doubling raises throughout the game to the point where only 28+ Spd caps can double (19), to where only 30 spd or 28/29 with Starsphere can (20/20x), to where no one can double reliably. Although having a tough unit (coughgeneral) to bait is also very nice to have, although when they start getting doubled I think it stops being worthwhile. However, due to the nature of enemy hit rates (dragonbreath and siege tomes don't get forged, meaning their hit caps at 125, and most have closer to 115-120), the Swordmaster Avoid buff, and supports, I still highly recommend the Swordmaster class, especially as they also get WTA over the Berserker class, double Sorcs and non-Fire/Flying Dragons in the final (and Flying have a ton of other weaknesses as well). EDIT: Are you allowed a prep screen before the Final Battle begins? Yes. The first time I attempted the two-turn strat, I actually had Sirius and Minerva on the wrong sides and had to restart it. Paperblade, if you had to rank Lunatic as a H__ difficulty, what would that number be? 8 or so? I only played through H5 in its entirety twice. In both cases, H5 was only difficult for about 5 chapters, since a vast majority were trivialized by the Warp staff and its 40 or so total uses or Sedgar/Wolf (... or effective forges). In Lunatic mode, the Warp staff is replaced by Fortify, which is a good staff, but does not trivialize the game like Warp. Rescue is also powerful, but requires you to have a unit with it across the map, which means that instantly moving across the map lacks as much utility as you already got a 5-6 move unit there (which means Marth/whoever could have likely gotten there already, unless it's a case like Ch. 4 or the Final), increasing move (Ch. 5), or getting units out of bad places (Ch. 5, 21)
fatgamecat
Do you plan on replaying lunatic going for better strats? Or going on to reverse mode? It's pretty impressive you made it all the way through with a mage my unit.. probably one of the worst choices for lunatic mode, although maybe it's more valuable on reverse mode. Then again pirate my unit is pretty handy with hand axes.. Edited July 25, 2010 by mjemirzian
Paperblade
Do you plan on replaying lunatic going for better strats? Or going on to reverse mode? I'll probably play Lunatic and do Lunatic+ eventually, but right now I'm just messing around on Maniac with the new class swap system. Knight MU going Cavalier is looking impressive so far. It's pretty impressive you made it all the way through with a mage my unit.. probably one of the worst choices for lunatic mode, although maybe it's more valuable on reverse mode. Then again pirate my unit is pretty handy with hand axes.. Yeah, CM is always talking about how his is one rounding with Hand Axes, and I'm just like "Well, uh, mine can heal." Colonel M
Yeah, CM is always talking about how his is one rounding with Hand Axes, and I'm just like "Well, uh, mine can heal." You know in reality I don't want My Unit to do that. ;_; I really hate how blessed he is.
LycopolisKing
DANG! That was some awesome strategy! Game rush! ...Did anyone notice that the Sisters' Hit Rate went down when recruited? Do they have a support with Medeus or something?

Paperblade
DANG! That was some awesome strategy! Game rush! ...Did anyone notice that the Sisters' Hit Rate went down when recruited? Do they have a support with Medeus or something? ... Huh. That's odd. They all have 10 more hit as enemies than as PCs. Support boosts don't show up in the status screen (at least, not for PCs), and even if it was a support, they should also have 10 more Avoid (which they don't).
Momo
Shouldn't they be getting +10 hit and avoid from the support with their recruiters, too? Maybe enemies get extra boosts in that mode.
Paperblade
Shouldn't they be getting +10 hit and avoid from the support with their recruiters, too? Maybe enemies get extra boosts in that mode. The support doesn't show up on the status screen, so that can't be it. Additionally, Maria and Elice would get +15 total, since Marth has auto-C with both of them in addition to the auto-A with their recruiters. #!/dev/haru
Did you ever upload this save?
Paperblade
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ichhq7 This should be a save state for DesMuMe 0.9.6 with Lunatic mode cleared. I have 3 save files there, a Lunatic+ at Ch. 1, and then a Maniac and Hard mode file where I'm screwing around. To load it use the "Load State From" option Edited August 10, 2010 by Paperblade
