Disc problem?

So, my dad surprised me by not buying only PoR for me for Christmas, but also RD!

Now, ordinarily, I'd be thrilled about this, but RD doesn't seem to be working...

Since I have to wait for a memory card to come from the mail, I decided to go play through RD. So, I'm having fun, and during chapter 2, when Sothe gets attacked, I encounter this message.

"The game Disc could not be read. Please refer to your Wii Operations Manual for more information."

This has happened multiple times, I've tried restarting to no avail.

So I'm wondering if it's my Wii that has problems, or the disc. The disc is used, from eBay (it was still pretty expensive >_>), and has some scratches, and I cleaned the disc, too.

Anyone know how to deal with this?

Does this only happen with Sothe?

Also, I'm not sure if this works with the Wii (I've only tried it for the GameCube), but you can try taking the disc out of the Wii when this helps, maybe clean it, and then put it back in to see if goes back on. At least for the GameCube, when a message like that comes up, your console hasn't "given up" yet. Now if it actually tells you to turn off your Wii, that means that it has given up and you'll have to reset.

@ Shibeebaba - I did what you said and switched animation to map only. It's working fine now, but I do hope that when Sothe promotes nothing will go wrong. ^ ^;

@ Kinata - As far as I know, it's only Sothe so far. I did take it out and clean it, and put it back it, but the problem persisted. Well, it's nice to know that my Wii isn't going bad.

Thanks for the help, guys. ^ _ ^

Try putting them back on in later chapters to see if it was a fluke or not- Unlikely, but it has happened. If its a fluke, then you don't need to worry about it for later.

I have problems with my RD disk and the message is usually this. Just take the disc out and put it back in. Alternatively, get it (professionally) cleaned and try it again. Mine is pretty scratched up.

Well, if cleaning it constantly won't do it, then I suggest getting a game doctor disk cleaner. You can buy one of these in any Electronics Botique store. That's what I do. How it works? You use some chemical, and then use the machine doctor to repair the disk, then clean it with a clean towel.
