Has anyone ever done a proper remix of this Fire Emblem Gaiden song...?

Gaiden in general has some exceptional music. This song is definitely in line stylistically with its FE1 equivalent:

Both have rapid staccato and bleed with intensity. But yeah, great tune that hasn't received proper recognition (though I'd say the same about Gaiden in general...)

Ages ago (probably around 5 years ago), I found a couple of Japanese fan-made remixes of this song. Most of them were MIDIs, but there was probably the odd MP3. I used to listen to one or two of the remixes all the time : P

I'm assuming I have some of the remixes backed up somewhere, and I'll do a quick check to see if I can still find the original source(s) online.

EDIT

I found one here. Look for 最終MAP BGM(プレイヤー側) (fifth song down).

I gotta say, I haven't finished FE2, but from what I hear, you can really

feel the effort they put in the music. Alm's map theme is short, but the

tempo change really keeps it from being irritating and gives it life.

Celica's map theme really seems to fit like a glove, with the monsters and

fighting on a ship, somehow.

Just putting that out there, though. It's too bad FE2's music hasn't been

remastered much. Celica's map theme was in SSBM, but it didn't give off

the right feeling IMO.

You could count the fan remake with SRPG maker as remixed music, but I think most of them could be better called ports than actual remixes.

Sometimes people just haven't heard of a game's music, and so, there's never really any remixes known. Live-A-Live has the same exact problem Gaiden has it seems :(

EDIT: WHAT. HOW WAS THAT REMIX NOT USED IN FE10! AH!

Not exactly what you're asking for but I'd say it still counts as a remix.

It's certainly one of the best map themes in the series and perfectly captures the mood of the final chapter maps. Edited by Ike-Mike

I'm glad to see that this song finally gets some recognition. :D

I'm enjoying the remixes that have been posted so far.

Remixes are nice, but what I really find awesome about the OST version of the song is that it manages to evoke so much emotion and nostalgia, especially with it's 8-bit-ness.

Also, every time I listen to the song, I can't help but think of an Alm vs. Rudolf Dissidia style fight in the Rigel Fortress.
