Iced
as some (like 3) of you know, I was building a new computer to replace my old, cacked screen, broken keyboard laptop. But now, It is finally finished! It's wonderful, runs any relatively demanding game I gave it at least 70~ FPS, fast doing anything else. It's a new experience for me to be able to leave the default settings on max and have it fun fine. I built it myself too, so thats pretty cool. Pretty damn awesome for only $950~ AUD [spoiler=Pictures] (it does have a side panel, but it's not all that interesting, it does have a window though, that's nice.) [spoiler=specs for anyone who cares] MOBO: GA-X58A-UD3R CPU: Intel i7-950 RAM: 6GB G.skill 1600Mhz GPU: ATI Radeon 4870 (got it for free from a friend) HDD: 1TB Seagate PSU: Thermaltake 650w EVO_Blue CASE: Antec DF-

The Envoy of the Beginning
Gigabyte for the win. I'm on a GA-P55-USB3 motherboard and it hasn't given me issues despite hearing about the so-called "infinite reboot loop" on reviews for it. I wish more people here knew about PC building. Edit: I do recommend replacing that stock CPU cooler with an aftermarket one. Stock CPU coolers hardly keep the CPU cool for intense applications/games. Yeah, Gigabyte seemed pretty good, midrange in the 1366pin range, they start to get expensive after that. Most people greatly exaggerate the difficulty of it too, everyone I know was amazing that I actually built it instead of buying a premade one. I intend to buy another exhaust fan for the side panel before anything else, the GPU and PSU blowing hot air into each other can't be healthy. I'm just waiting for the rest of my parts to show up. [spoiler=Comparison Sakes] Phenom x2 (OC'd and unlocked to x4) 4Gs DDR3 Ram 1600 ( Messing with the OC on this) 5770 ATI Radeon XFX 1 Tera HDD Cavier Blue 500w of power (Weak end) 550 US give or take. Go go Newegg! I care about your specs. We should put together a building guide for people who wish to build their own computers.

Excellen Browning
For the mouse I recommend a Logitech mx-518. As for the sound card I'd recommend you don't spend money on it if you don't have at least $150 in speakers or $100 in headphones. Only from that pricepoint you will really be able to notice a difference.

Iced
You need to vacuum clean your room dude. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the state of my room. I care about your specs. We should put together a building guide for people who wish to build their own computers. That's actually a pretty great idea, we should. EDIT: If I were to overclock (which I intend to do) how much would be a reasonable amount? I'm currently at 3.07Ghz (stock) and running at about 40°C idle. i know how to do it and everything, I just don't have a huge amount of experience. Actually we're tied in RAM and you'll find that the 4870 is actually far better than the 5570 There's nothing wrong with Win7 :/

peener weener
Sorry, went off numbers XD MINE COSTS LESS ;~; I know. I just preferred XP. The last three numbers are usually what matter the most. 1-3 are pretty shitty. 4-6 are regular/decent. 7-9 are business class. Then the last two numbers are basically the same only rating in the same category. If you know what I mean. The first number could be said to be the "line" of making. Although this is very loose and quite possibly completely off the actual explanations.
Iced
It was 45 fucking degrees today, horrible. My poor computer's CPU is idleing at 50°C, the GPU a good 10° hotter than that Natrually it's not being used much.

If you want to overclock, do it in steps of .1 gigahertz at a time. If your computer starts getting a little to hot, ramp it down to the last adjustment you made. You're also going to probably have to buy an aftermarket cooler. Also remember Intel CPUs also run hotter than any AMD usually. (Unless my info is OOD.) And curse you all for you're core-i7 and especially you with that SSD. Also I'm making the computer guide now.
