Anouleth
Shining Force 1 and 2 are £2 each on Steam. Are they worth getting?
Dr. Tarrasque
Holy shit yes. At least for the second game anyway, haven't played the first. Of course you could just emulate it if you'd prefer to avoid spending. Edited January 27, 2011 by Sirius
Narga_Rocks
Shining Force 1 and 2 are £2 each on Steam. Are they worth getting? 2 is, at least. It can be annoying, with random unavoidable deaths, especially in the mode where enemies get much stronger. But at least you can rez them after most maps. And it can be done without ever grinding. I know the Tyrant likes it too. Edited January 27, 2011 by Anouleth
Naglfar
Played the first. Didn't like it.
TheEnd
Played the first. Didn't like it. 2 is much better, in pretty much all aspects.
Thief
Not a big fan of 2, but the first game is sweet. Play it FE style; no grinding or reviving. Glad that 3 is more similar to 1 than 2.
Kriemhild
Anybody know a good Genesis emulator to play this?
Nightmare
Gens.
TheEnd
Gens. And variants (Gens+, rerecording, etc). I tend to prefer Gens+ because it opens faster. But sadly, it doesn't allow me to watch speedruns. Edited February 3, 2011 by TheEnd
Colonel M
o_O 2 is definitely worth it. It's a solid game, aside from how their RN system works. I really hate some of the mechanical things within the game (note that it's helluva more random than Fire Emblem's RN system). 1 isn't terrible but it is a cookie cutter story at best.
