Silith
you can transfer easy mode to hard mode. And in RD you need to unlock Hard Mode by completeing Normal Mode at least once.
Junkhead
I never played Normal Mode. FE9 is my very first FE and from the first time I have inserted the disc into the gamecube I have choosen hard mode - I have the european version -. I play hard mode because the game is spicy and I think playing normal mode would not be quite a challenge thus I would waste my time. When I will have RD, I plan to directly play the hardest mode possible, and since I have the european version I suppose hard mode will be transfered to hard mode and normal mode to normal mode. If you think you would be "wasting time" with FE9 NM, then I must inform you, HM isn't much harder. FE10's NM is actually more challenging than FE9 HM. Mister Cold
small question, How can you easily check if you can transfer an easy mode file or not? (is just having an easymode file enough or does it need to be a finished EM file)
Interceptor
IIRC any file that's Easy Mode will break it, doesn't have to be a cleared one. So starting a quick Easy save in PoR will give you a way to test what kind of RD disc that you have.
Colonel M
Interceptor, you should try to get Sothe form 1-20 in PoR without gaining a stat and transfer that to RD. See what happens. I smell a dondon playthrough. I also thought part of the Callil / Largo transfer (where Callil gets both) was proven untrue. Maybe horrible memory. Edit: Nevermind.
