luigi bros
I've been planning to do a Wi-Fi team for this game. I have time for 11 more forges and I have planned it out. My team will be My unit Horseman Mercurius Forged Brave Sword Forged Brave Bow Forged Levin Sword Master Key Merric Sage Forged Thoron Warp Fortify Recover Rescue Navarre Swordmaster Forged Master Sword Forged Brave Sword Forged Levin Sword Pure Water Pure Water Catria Parthia Forged Brave Bow Forged Longbow Vulnerary Vulnerary Barst Berserker Hauteclare Forged Brave Axe Forged Hand Axe Pure Water Pure Water My question is, should I alter what I forge? I'm having doubts about the Master Sword and the Levin Sword on the Horseman (he has bows for range). Weapons I'm considering forging is Swordkiller and Poleax. However this would mean replacing two my currently planned forges. So my first question is should I forge what I currently plan on or is there something I should change. Question two: Is this team good? For the most part HP, Str (for physical fighters), Mag (for Merric), Skl, and Spd will be maxed, with some maxing Defense. Question three: Are there any modifications you think I should make? I really want this team to be perfect.
VincentASM
Haven't done many Wi-Fi battles for this game, so not sure how valid my suggestions are. For Navarre, I'd drop the forged Master Sword. I am assuming you can grab the funds to forge it, but still it's pretty expensive to forge and forged Brave Sword is better than it than in almost every way. I'd also drop some of the duplicated items (Pure Water or Vulnerary) and add in an Elixir in place of every Vulnerary. Maybe add in a Starsphere or Lifesphere (note that you'll need the online shop to get the Brave weapons if you keep the spheres). Team seems fine statwise. I haven't used Barst before, but his averages look good. EDIT Maybe swap Recover with Again. You can use Elixirs to heal in emergencies. luigi bros
Thanks for the advice. About the Master Sword; It's much more powerful than the Brave Sword. Although the Brave Sword deals double damage, it's still limited by the amount of damage it can do in one. The Master Sword will also have 50% critical hit which althogh negated by Dazzle, it's still very helpful. I see your point too, so I can't decide. I don't care about cost because I have nothing better to do than arena abuse (I'm sad...). If I were to leave it out, what would be better for forging? When I think about it I won't need the Poleax or Swordkiller since I most likely will be using Apotrope. Is this the ideal card? As for the Elixir is the only way to find it with the real time clock? I know I'm asking a barrage of questions, but if anyone can help I'd appreciate it Edited July 10, 2011 by luigi bros
VincentASM
I'd swap the Master Sword for a Starsphere or something personally. 32 Speed sounds pretty interesting, although I haven't had a chance to use it on an opponent yet. Don't take my word for it though, since I haven't tried using a Sword Killer or Master Sword online. Although I could try simulating some battles with myself to see how they fare. Elixir is only gotten as a clock bonus. It's not that hard to get though, but it might be annoying checking for it every day (especially if you're suspended while arena abusing). You've got around a 3.5% chance of getting one IF you get an item, while gives you a ~1% chance in total. EDIT Actually, I think Swordkillers might be a bit risky if your opponent has a Swordmaster with max HP and Def. If I did my calculations right, a forged Swordkiller will only do 59 damage. 18 x 3 (= 54) + 3 + 24 - 22 = 59 Forged Might x Effective coefficient + Weapon rank bonus (3) + Strength - enemy's Defence Edited July 10, 2011 by VincentASM
luigi bros
Thanks. Unfortunately the Starsphere is not an option since I need to go to Chapter 24 if I'm going to have enough time to Forge everything. Excellent calculations. I guess I don't need to worry too much about effective weapons since I'm probably using Apotrope. I'm not looking forward to waiting time for the Elixir, but it will be worth it. I'm wondering if I can cheat the clock. Like if my DS's clock says it is 2:30 on June 10 if I go to 2:30 on June 11 will I get all the bonuses? Also if I save before cheating the clock (or after) if I don't get an Elixir, will resetting reset the chance or will I get the same thing every time? (Like FE10's Coin Forge). Thanks again. LeaderR Elliot
Are you using sword users? MAX MAGIC everyone in wi-fi uses a LOT that thunder sword... Keep in Mind A Zerker with starsphere ORKO Sages and also quadruple them... use a bishop instead. Starsphere exist... also Star shards only takes One more Str to really kill a Swordmaster in wi-fi. Sage SILENCE Fortify Again Warp/ Rescue Fixed. Drop Legenday Weapons... they are CRAP. Gradivius sucks in Wi-fi... Zerker must have a Hand Axe , A Brave Axe, and A Poleax everything else isn´t worth. I have been lazy... I need to make a specific topic about wi-fi. You know our knowledge of wi-fi from SD is outdated... Edit: Every one on wi-fi has stats maxed out, this includes RES for everyone and Magic for every sword user Edit 2: KILL ASTRAM IN CHAPTER 9 IS YOUR BEST BET. You can clock abuse. You can RNG abuse in checkpoints ( up to three characters at time) You can Lv up specific stats in the new arena. luigi bros
Thanks, but I have no intention to RNG abuse. I want to do this by letting luck work. The only thing I'll even consider abusing is Merric's Magic. And my Levin Sword users have little to no Magic. The only reason they're in use is for range. MasterJP28
Edit 2: KILL ASTRAM IN CHAPTER 9 IS YOUR BEST BET. You can clock abuse. You can RNG abuse in checkpoints ( up to three characters at time) You can Lv up specific stats in the new arena. lol I just killed Astram while playing chapter 9. Not to arena abuse, I just hate him! I prefer exp than a unit like Astram. Everyone must have forged braves and forged ranged (including longbow). Magic must have fortify, again, warp/rescue or both. Triangle attack is great when used with the crit negate card, forgot it's name. I always made Palla a sniper, Catria Falco/Draco, and Est Swordmaster, they are inter-changeable. The Axe bros can also do the triangle attack and it is deadly with a forged thoron on Cord with max mag. VincentASM
If your sword units have little magic, I'd just drop the Levin Swords personally. With those two forges gone, does that give you enough time to forge everything and keep the Starsphere? Something I forgot, although I have a feeling you might be aware of it given your recent topic- if you're using Apotrope, I'd suggest making Navarre a Horseman. You'll need to beat Hard Mode to remove the male reclass limits, but HM isn't that hard to beat. It might be boring having more than one Horseman, but you get the benefit of added movement and range. No to everything I'm afraid. Abusing the clock only works on emulators and AFAIK, yes, the items are fixed right before you obtain them like FE10's forge bonuses. luigi bros
Interesting idea about Navarre. I'll give it a try. I may as well just keep the Levin Sword I guess. I would need to drop five items if I were to keep the Starsphere, which I can't.
VincentASM
Hmm, are you sure about that? The first arena you find is in Chapter 9, so you can afford to forge from Chapter 10's preparation screen. This gives you 14 chapters to forge even if you stop playing by Chapter 20: 10 10x 11 12 13 13x 14 15 16 16x 17 18 19 20 I only count 11 forged items in your first team. When were you planning to create your first forge? EDIT Actually, are you already halfway through the game or something? luigi bros
Sorry about the double post but I have another question. How vital are the orbs for Wi-Fi? I'm considering starting over for the purpose of finishing by Chapter 20 with the Spheres in possesion. Is it worth it or is it a waste of time?
VincentASM
I haven't had a chance to use the spheres online (my only team with the spheres isn't geared towards online), but it seems to me that there's no reason not to use them if you have the chance. The only things you miss out on by not completing Chapter 20, AFAIK are: 3 less of each statbooster - remedied with Lunatic statboosters or rigged Level Ups, using units with high growths etc. No Brave weapons - found in online shop Less exp - not a problem with arena abuse (needed to forge) or preparation screen arena No Midia, Ymir, Michalis or Nagi - they're not really needed in an online team Although, ideally you're probably better off beating the game at Chapter 14 to keep the shards, which grant more stat bonuses in total, but the spheres are a good substitute if you need more time. LeaderR Elliot
The real reason to play and end IN chapter 20 is Geosphere and more time to your teams
luigi bros
I really don't want to start again with arena abuse, but I will if I have to. There are a few things I'd like to ask then. This will require some heavy analysis. One point of not is that under no circumstances will I RNG abuse. 1. What is more important? Spheres or extra statboosts? 2. If the Spheres are more important, instead of restarting, are there forges I can remove so that I will have enough time to forge everything by stopping at Chapter 20? 3. This will require removing 5 forges. Right now I'm thinking Both Levin Swords (2) (Both because of minimal magic on them, although with Spirit Dust it may be useful on one, probably Navarre since he has no range. Master Sword (3) because as Vincent said the extra might isn't worth the huge cost and lack of brave effect After that I'm at a loss. Everything else looks nice. So if you have any recommendations please tell me. To sum up I have four options. 1. Start over and end the game at Chapter 14 2. Start over and end the game at Chapter 20 3. Reduce number of Forges by five and end at Chapter 20 4. Continue as planned and ignore the spheres In order of preference I'd like 3,4,2,1. However I want this team to be as good as possible so if you can help me decide please do. Thanks
VincentASM
Eh, it seems like you're a tad too far ahead to change your plans now. Although I was forced to change my plans halfway in SD once, after making a huge miscalculation. What I did and what I'd suggest IF you really want the spheres is drop the forged Longbow and Hand Axe (so only the Braves and Thoron remain), but then your team will be rather limited in terms of ranged damage (and this really hurts since forged Braves don't ORKO a lot of units). Another alternative is to drop the forged Thoron for Starlight, since your magic user shouldn't be attacking much, and keep one of the forged Longbow or Hand Axe. Personally I'd just start over to get the best of both worlds (forges and shards/spheres), but that's just me and I am aware that redoing arena abuse is something most people don't want to do. Although, for curiousity's sake, how much gold have you amassed so far from the arena? If you restart, definitely aim for Chapter 14 unless you're not feeling confident. Also, if you restart, you can aim for higher magic for your Levin Sword users. It's fairly easy with My Unit (little-to-no RNG abuse needed) if you pick the Future that boosts Strength and Magic growth by 15%. Just make sure to keep them as a Mage/Dark Mage for a while (Mage preferably, but if you want a Horseman My Unit without reclass limits removed, you can only be a Dark Mage). Your other Levin Sword user can use the Maturity Drop. However, I guess what decision you make depends on what kind of "firepower" you want your team to have. Forged Braves are already pretty overkill, Starsphere helps a bit (+2 Str/Mag, Spd, etc.) and the shards help a bit more (+4 Str/Mag, +2 Spd, etc.). EDIT Forgot you get Starlight after Chapter 20. I guess Excalibur would be the next best thing for Merric. Edited July 13, 2011 by VincentASM

I REALLY don't want to do it again, but I know one day I will. The effectiveness of this team will determine when it will happen. Anyways, thanks a lot everyone. I really appreciate the advice, and one day I will definately use it. I think I'm just going to go with option 2, :( : however I know I'll regret it... I appreciate the advice, but I don't have that kind of willpower. I'm impressed that you have that kind of dedication. Thanks again!
LeaderR Elliot
You can always finish this team... then start another team. For being your first team It will give you a General Idea how wi-fi is...(It is cruel man, CRUEL... It generally works from 8:00pm an 3-5am) Then you should experiment with a team with spheres, and finally try the shards team, you will do this because it will work for a learning purpose. Then when the american version comes you will know what to do. One more tip: Do not take wi-fi that seriously... at least not yet. Edit: Meanwhile I will work in my topic Edited July 12, 2011 by LeaderR Elliot
luigi bros
I plan on doing three teams. I unlocked the stat boosts in the preparations screen and unlocked the reclass limit. All with the same members and items as posted in the opening post with the exception of the Spheres/Shards However, I have a question about the final team (3) 1. End at chapter 24 Chapter 21 Stat Boosters 2. End at Chapter 20 Spheres 3. End at Chapter 14 Shards My question is how am I supposed to end at Chapter 14? Theres no way I can make enough money for it. There's one Arena which I can use in Chapter 9, but I know this means editing the team. How should it be edited? luigi bros
Sorry about the double post, but there is more I want to ask. I don't want to edit the previous one, because honestly, it won't get any responses. First off, there's a lot of typos in it which I will fix. Second, after actually playing Wi-Fi, it is HARD. Please, anybody, give me some advice!
