Onmi
Lets say you've repointed your map events elsewhere, what do you do with the map event data that is left over (if that makes sense) As an example, say I customize chapter 1 in FE7 and repoint it to the end of the rom (unlikely but hey this is in theory, everyone knows I don't edit FE7 anyway) Do you leave the former map data there because... well why bother overwriting it when you could cause something to fuck up?I know you shouldn't delete it because that will alter all your pointers beyond that location, but as a question to other hackers, do you go back and overwrite the repointed map data as free space? (FF FF etc.) So yeah, question for all Hackers, what do you do? specificly when it comes to bigger projects like DotF or Tactics Universe than one chapter hacks. You do nothing with it and leave it alone. It's easier to make free space at the end of the rom than add more by deleting data in the rom. Celice
Yeah. You're free to wipe it out if you're sure your range of deletion is going to be unused by anything, because it's just filler data at that point. But since the GBA has an upper-limit of 32MB, you should be pretty safe. The GBA is already absurdly easy to mess with--and it gives you the leeway of that much space to dick around in. Just have fun with it.
