Fixed Stat Mode Hack?

I'm just wondering: In fire emblem path of radiance, beating the game once unlocked fixed stat mode, which prevented rng-screwing and rng-blessing by making your characters basically gain their average expected stats overtime, without any chance involved. Has anybody done this with any other game for a rom hack? I've been unable to find it if so, so I thought I'd ask.

There is a Fixed growth patch for FE7 that a lot of people use in their HHM efficiency LP's.

If making a FG patch for FE7 is possible, then it should be possible for other games.

But that's ensuring that all level-ups give no stat-ups at all, isn't it? If so, then that's not what's being asked for. What's being asked for is to remove the RNG element of what determines your stats and have it just run an expected stat-gain each level. A fare number of JRPGs operate on this, where every level, you gain an exact, predictable amount of stats, because it's pre-recorded which stats will rise.

You could incorporate this by just reworking how level-ups determine which stats to go up. But if you don't know how to code something like that and make sure it's bug-free, don't try it. If you're wanting to get that aspect of game playing though, what you can do is manually edit your stats per each level up. It's not as dynamic, but you can average out which stats should and should not gain and manually distribute those stats each time. It's not as slow as you think, but if you're playing on a flashcart, better hope you're able to access the included cheat-emulation to manage your stats on the fly. Don't know much about whether the saves are encrypted or force you to deal with checksums :/

If I remember correctly, someone a good while ago had posted a thread here with patches for the Elibe games that were mostly this. There was even a chart in how the whole system worked.

Obviam made them for FE7 and FE6. I couldn't find a FE8 one, and I don't recall if he even made one for that game to begin with.

Notes:

- Promote your characters at level 19, unless they have a growth greater than or equal to 100% (only Fa and Karel in FE6, I believe, who can't promote anyway). They'll get no stat-ups when leveling from 19-20.

- If a character dies, you can resume once to try and save them. After the first resume the outcome is fixed, however. Things get interesting in the Arena, where reseting and resuming during a fight can change the enemy you're fighting.

- Rath now has 8 con in Lyn and Eliwood/Hector modes.
