-That shitty ruffian took out the only other manly member of this group. Then, it isn't even a question what must be done. "Can you feel it, little man? My objective superiority to you!?"

Isra saw the annoying mage take care of the ruffian, so she turned to take care of the remaining thief. Too far away to attack quickly, she instead threw her knife, hoping for a lucky shot.

Roll:

1d6--> 5+6-7=4 Hit!

1d12-->9 no crit

1-3=-2

Sita turned just as she took a knife to the throat. She collapsed to the ground. Isra ran over to check to make sure that she was down for good and retrieved her knife in the process.

Battle over.

Seeing the last of their assailants fall, Adri dismissed the clouds she'd been gathering with a wave of one hand. Her other arm was pressed to her side, trying to stanch the bleeding of the gash the thief had given her. "Lou, see to Aeron's injuries," she called, doing a quick head count. Everyone was alive, as far as she could tell. "Rane, Zull, and I need assistance too once you're done with that." She turned to Zull. "I hope you've learned something from this about yelling about the mission all over the place," she told him acidly. "Their mage was eavesdropping on us at the inn, and you went and made targets of us. They did us plenty damage, and we outnumbered them nearly two to one. You are not going to go blathering about your supposed invincibility in relation to our task of retrieving the Winged Key, understand?"

Battle results: 2 stat points to everybody, spend them as you wish, and post your new stats to the signup thread so that we have a record.

Miscellany: Future battles may award different people different numbers of points, depending on contribution (this one was really short so yeah). Also, HongLei, when Lou heals someone, please take note of the amount in your post (it's equal to his skill stat, which has a starting base of 7.)

New chapter will be up shortly; post to this one if you wish, but we're moving on soon.

Okay I'll do that in the future.

Before Lou went to clean up the injuries of his allies, he noted that Isra was uninjured and called her over and asked if she would help him by giving the injured ones some antiseptic and bandages. This would allow Lou to treat Aeron first without worries of the others getting infections in their wounds. He then treated Aeron until he felt he would be stable enough for him to treat the others, whom he then treated.

(OOC: AND HOW DOES ADRI KNOW THAT????????????????????? Also Isra, Aeron, and Zull all totally deserve three stat points >8888[ )

"May I remind you that my supposed yelling was but in response to your and Isra's conversation, who weren't exactly whispering yourselves?" Zull is annoyed. In order to calm his annoyedness, he goes over to the now less unconscious Aeron, proceeding to ignore anything Adri says further. "It is impressive how good you are at taking a hit, soldier! Why, even I may have been toppled were it not for your amazing durability!" Even Zull would admit that he is not the best in the world at the complimenting thing.

Aeron holds his head in one hand, still sitting down, shaking his head a bit and grunting.

"I was careless," he said to Zull, "otherwise, I should not have sustained a hit. Perhaps I shall learn from this for our future battles."

"You were quite excellent yourself!"

He then got up and retrieved his shirt, wearing it.

"Now, great weather mage, do we continue?"

Isra watched the rest of the party out of the corner of her eye, and just shook her head at Zull's inability to learn from his mistakes. With a small sigh, she turned her back to the group fully and instead kept watch on the surrounding countryside as they discussed what they were doing next. We were lucky this time. Next time, we may be up against a much larger group. I never should have missed them spying on us. I will need to be more aware in the future.

Truly irate now, Adri summoned up a gust of wind and threw it at Zull to demand his attention again. "I was speaking of a nebulously defined mission, in a normal tone of voice, in a room with a closed door. You were shouting nonsense bravado about protecting something valuable. There is a clear difference in terms of who is attracting more unwanted attention.

"If your inability to keep your mouth shut gets us attacked again, we will not hesitate to leave you behind. I'd imagine that the Archmage assigned you to our group such that you might learn something while providing us with a little extra firepower, but this mission is more important than a lesson in character for one trainee mage.

"Now, there should be a town not too far down the road," she said less harshly, giving Lou a nod. "We'll find a wayhouse there to stay the night, and this time nobody mentions that our mission involves carrying or protecting anything."
