I know there are more Mario girls but I can't remember their names so I put the option other ^^'. This one is multiple choice. I happen to like Toadette the most :^_^: but I also like Daisy, Rosalina, Pauline, and Birdo. Birdo is supposibly male but idk I'll still put her in this poll.

I like the part of smg where the honey queen has a star in her crotch that you have to crawl over, but I only voted Toadette. But yeah Birdo is male but you used "girl" so it's fine to have her in the poll.

Man, playable Princess dates at least as far back as Super Mario RPG. That's before she was even given the moniker Peach.

Super Mario Bros. 2, bros.

That predated SMRPG, didn't it?

Wasn't SMB2 not really a Mario game and it just got changed for selling in the U.S.?

While that certainly was a true point back when it was new, I thought that it had been retooled internationally since then. I could be wrong, though - my knowledge of the game is below sketchy.

EDIT: And either way, the US version did have a playable princess and it was a Mario game as far as Yanks cared.

I don't know about that, but I do know that SMB2 was later released in Japan under the name "Super Mario USA". It's interesting to note that Doki Doki Panic started out as a prototype Mario game, and many of its elements were incorporated into later Mario titles.

That was mostly my point, that SMB2 was re-released internationally as a Super Mario game, which would sort of retcon-canonize it.

Didn't know the bit about Doki Doki Panic, though.
