Hey! So I saw that a new Fire Emblem voice meme was floating around on Tumblr, and I thought I would pass it along to you guys. Post your replies~! You can type your responses, but you get mega bonus-points for a video or mp3, which is traditionally how this is done. :newyears:

  • How did you first break into the series? What was your first FE title?

Mega bonus points? Maybe I'll do it on video for mega bonus pints...

I started with FE7.

I like FE5 best. It has an epic intro and I like Finn a lot. It has some of the more interesting chapters in the series. I like the soundtrack while I'm playing it (out of game it isn't so good).

My favorite class tree is the prince/princess --> Master Knight class tree. I like being able to mix all kinds of different weapons.

My favorite character is Sephiran, because [spoiler=Radiant Dawn Spoilers]he goes crazy and wants to end the human world while simultaneously calling Sanaki, apostle of Begnion, "his sun and stars." A bifurcated man after mine own heart.

My least favorite character? Maybe Sophia, for coming in one of the most difficult FE6 chapters for me without much in the way of strength. I guess she does get more move than Cecilia...

I like the Ike/Soren pairing, and even if we consider it's just a friendship, I like it a lot. I also like Ike/Lethe, even though it goes nowhere (that's kind of what I like about it, I think it's cute that it goes nowhere, poor Lethe). I don't dislike any pairings that I can think of.

I looked up what a headcanon is on urban dictionary or something and I don't think I have any, though I kinda used to have one for Ike/Soren.

OK, here's what I'm gonna do for now...this is totally gay, be warned...

Lileenuh, Dee-eck, Ee-lie-wood, Oother, Cay-ness, Athos with the A pronounced like it is pronounced in absolutely, Guyts, Lie-nus, Pheray, Say-Kay, Re-nayis (with s having no buzz to it), Eh-fry-eem, Leon, Innis (with the s having no buzz), La Raw-chel, I vary on Ewan, Grail, Tie-tay-neeya, Wris, Zeehark, Nephenay, Jeffrey, Moo-are-eem, Raw-jion.

When I say Ike I follow it up with "My General My Liege My King," sputtered out like a slack-jawed knave.

I basically trust nintendo to do what it wants with the series. I have no major complaints.

When a character gets a perfect level up I am somewhat happy.

Characters I really like don't tend to die, but once Soren died on 4-1 of RD because I didn't know the boss moved. Ike had already hacked her health in half and I thought she was gonna finish herself on enemy phase, but then she flew over to Soren and did him in. I was really pissed but I don't think I ragetwatted, and Soren was useful for unsleeping IIRC characters on 4-4 (Oliver's Manse).

I don't really hate characters so I don't think I've ever had a character I dislike die. They mostly sit on the sidelines, so...

When a character missees with over 90% chance to hit, I don't get pissed because I knew there was a chance of the miss occurring. But that logic doesn't work as well with characters with high chances to evade getting hit, especially not multiple times when only a few attacks are launched against them.

Once I was playing Fire Emblem in my friend's dorm room while my friends were watching True Blood. I don't really love True Blood so even though I enjoy listening to the TV show in the background, I usually played something when my friends watched it, sometimes with a couple other friends who didn't like True Blood much but most of the time those friends weren't there. I was leaning back in my chair and then WHAM the ceiling was falling away from me and then WHAM the floor slammed into my head and it hurt a lot. Thank god for wireless controllers, if it had been wired the wii could have been yanked off of the dresser and damaged. As it was I got away with brain damage and who needs brains to play Fire Emblem?

we should totally get on my friend's vent / mumble and do this. mostly because i hate skype and honestly don't know if windows vista comes with built in software to record yourself (don't have a webcam and even if i did i wouldn't because i look like shit in front of the computer. YAY INTERNET ANONYMITY.)

edit: vista does have a built in sound recorder, just tested it. i will do mine / upload it later (i can attach it to SF right?) when i wake up in the evening, preferably after a nice good morning cigarette so you can all get the brown barry white in yo headphonesz.

I don't think I'll even aim for the bonus points due to the conditions in my house. Lest I do it at someplace like a friend's house. Berkeley could work too, but I don't know if there are many FE fans over there interested in something like this.

At first I thought this was headcanon FE character voices, which should totally be a thing of its own. My voice sucks too much to burden ears with it, unfortunately.

Fanshipping that isn't carried out in-game.

It doesn't have to be about shipping. :3

It's sort of hard to explain. Essentially, headcanon thoughts are those ideas that pop into your head when you start to wonder about things not present in the source material, or not very well expanded on. For example, a character's past, what happens after the story's ending, how characters interact with each other outside of the source material, etc. It can also be pairings that aren't necessarily canon, but I feel like that's starting to get into AU territory if you're refuting actual in-game facts.

More broadly, headcanon applies to anything that isn't specified or denied in game but that one would like to consider canon. So ships that aren't canonically specified count, but also things like "[Character] would totally have a voice just like [person]" also apply.

Sadly not.

However I'd have liked to think Raven's offspring would be a bit more interesting than what Rebecca did canonically pull off with whoever the real father of Wolt is.

Maybe Oujay is Raven's. Who knows.

A friend of mine introduced me and my older brother to the game. He used to be our neighbor. The first game we played was Sacred Stones.

Which FE title is your favorite and why?

Ummmm I really don't know anymore since I haven't played any of them in a while but my thingy under Blazing Sword, so I'll just go with that~ I guess I either liked it for the characters or the story? Idk

What’s your favorite class or class tree? Why?

Archer! I really wanna learn archery really badly cause I think it'd be cool/fun so that bias makes me like archers.

Who’s your favorite character and why?

I think Reyson is pwettiful =3 It's a pretty birdy!

Except I'm not really as into him anymore, or into any other characters...

Now what about your least favorite character? Why?

I haven't really picked one... Maybe just for Reyson I could say Oliver but I don't really hate him that much or anything XD

I don't really think about the pairings all that much...

Talk about some of your favorite Fire Emblem headcanons.

Lil-i-nuh, Deek, El-i-wood (though I kinda put very little emphasis on the "i" part, so it almost just sounds like I'm saying el-wood), Oo-ther, Ca-nus, A-thoh-s (put down "oh" to represent the long o sound and just plain o would be a short o sound), Geets, Ly-nus, Fer-ay, Sah-cay (like how the dentists have you say ahhhhh =3), Re-nays, Ef-raim (though it's almost like a mix of ay and eh sound), Ly-on, Lar-uh-chel (though sometimes I almost slur it to sound like I don't even pronounce the "uh" part), E-wen, Grail, Ty-tay-nee-uh, Rees, Zy-hark, Ne-fe-nee, I'm not quite decided on Geoffrey, sometimes I say it just as it looks like (jee-oh-free) or like Jeffrey or like Jah-free cause I can't really tell what it's supposed to be, Mar-im, Ra-jy-on

I usually never think of that much either but I know I would want to have RD make the longer supports again, not just those itty bitty lines.

-when a character gets a perfect level up Probably something like, "Oh wow that's great/perfect!" stating the obvious

-when a character you really like/really hate dies If I really like the character I'll be like "No! Awwww I don't wanna redo this agaaaiiinnn" If I really hate them it'd be like "Meh, I'm too lazy to restart. Don't really want that person anyway"

-when a character misses an attack with over 90% chance to hit ".......................................................... What?! That was a 90% hit how could you miss that?"

And finally, tell us a story about something cool/funny/infuriating that happened to you while playing Fire Emblem.

Nothing interesting has ever happened to me. Just minor things. Maybe like that previous question like just last week or something I was playing sacred stones for a short bit and someone had 88% chance of hitting I think and they were gonna kill the enemy by being able to hit twice and so I was all happy and whatnot to be able to kill that person and he/she goes ahead and misses the first time, making me sad =[

And maybe also a few of those criticals with 1%-3% chance but while that surprised me at first it's happened a few more times and it just gives me the impression now that that isn't all that uncommon.
