The reason there was such a backlash over DLC Micaiah and Eirika is because people didn't get the kind of fanservice they wanted. That's all there is to it regardless of what sort of weak justifications people try to pull out of the usual place.

But, mostly the girls were complaining, saying that it was 'degrading' or something like that.

Seth should have totally represented the groom class.

I am surprisingly okay with this since I cannot think of a better alternative.

@Frédéric: I suppose so.

@The debate: It would be degrading if Fire Emblem previously tended to the stereotype that every female character had to be a strong independent woman. Eirika was good in a fight but was far from independent. She relied on a man to protect her throughout most of the game even though she could hold her own. That is not true for all females in that game. The Bride class fits Eirika rather well compared to other characters. If Lyn had been brought in as the Bride class, it definitely would have been degrading because it would have been extremely out of character.

I find it good that you spelled Frédéric with the correct accents. That's a sound arguement as to why Eirika as a bride is ok.

This is a VERY good point.

In other words, this.

Finally, someone who gets it.
