[FE10] Rate the Unit According to Draft Performance

Credit to Elieson for coming up with the rate the unit idea.

Basically, we're gonna be rating FE10 characters according to how they perform in standard drafts.

Standard Rules:

1. This draft is for 7 players.

2. Ike, Micaiah, Sothe, Geoffrey, the Herons, the Black Knight, and Lehran are free for all to use.

3. The drafting order is reversed for the last round of picks.

4. Haar is banned from drafting.

5. The game will be played on Normal Mode.

6. No transfers.

Rules:

1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, Rescue and Shove/Smite undrafted characters and NPCs, trade, Escape, and transfer items/skills between teams.

2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, Shoving/Smiting undrafted characters, opening Doors and Chests, finding hidden items, Arriving, and giving Blood Tide/Night Tide/White Pool bonuses.

3. Allied and Other units may do as they please without penalty.

Penalties:

1. Undrafted units have a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter (1-6 counts as 2 chapters, and 4-E counts as 5 chapters).

Exceptions:

1. One of Edward or Nolan is free for each of 1-P, 1-1 and 1-2.

2. Volug is free for 1-5.

3. Elincia, Marcia and Nealuchi are free for 2-P

4. Nephenee and Brom are free for 2-1.

5. One undrafted, non-Lucia unit is free for 2-2.

6. One undrafted, 7 move unit is free for 3-1.

7. One undrafted, 6 move unit is free for 3-3.

Can nuke high-def enemies.

Insta A with Sothe.

Also, Sacrifice may be worth something......I guess getting down to wrath/resolve activation could count..

Also, you forgot to mention high magic+healing.

Cons

Speed growth is :facepalm:.

Also, she has the durability of wet tissue paper that's been soaked for hours.

She can 1HKO Knights and Cavaliers as long as you go on training her a bit. She can 2HKO reliably. She can heal from long/range and stuff and shes free.

She was amazing in one draft I was in, but that was EM and I abused her stats a little bit early on. I'll go with 6/10.

EDIT: @Soul, most prominently, if we're doing free units I'm still counting them on the same level as draftees. Free means nothing.

Take note Im not counting that as a point for her score, its just great she has all those benefits when shes free. Shes the reason I dont ever need a healer for Part 3.

Or Part 4 for that matter. Shes also got Rescue in endgame without costing a deployment slot.

It's kind of hard to score free characters, I think. Usually I'd think in terms of "Why would I want to draft this unit?" but I obviously can't with free units. But I don't want "she's free" to be a point in her favor for her score, either. So...

7/10. Powerful offensively, but awful durability means she'll always need support until later when she can use Resolve to hold her own, if that ever even happens. Fairly poor movement, but the maps she's in usually aren't very move-centric, either, so it doesn't hurt her too much. Also very nice to have around as support for Sothe, who will almost always be doing most of the heavy lifting for all of part 1 and some of part 3.

Her with resolve is amazing, plus she's free. Sure, she gets 2HKO'd by most things throughout the game, but that's why resolve works so well on her. Resolvecaiah can also ORKO the laguz in 3-6 with resolve and with Sothe support and a thicket she won't get hit much after she's in resolve range. She makes my life easier in the desert chapter when I don't have a flier drafted. She can start pulling her weight (which admittedly is not very much, since it's only like 5) in 1-6-1 if she can take at least one hit and clear the armors up top with resolve active. In 1-8, she can clear out the left side of the map. She 4-turns 1-9. And more. So yeah, I love Resolvecaiah.

I think she's worth a solid 8/10. Thani and auto A support are big pluses. Speed is a downer, but resolve makes her usable if frustratingly reliant on luck. Also, as a side note, I don't think I have ever seen Sothe activate guard and protect her.

Micaiah's average is 7.5.

Day 2: Edward

Pros: Great availability. Good offensive growths. Wrath. Resolve + Wrath makes an amazing combination on him. Can use Caladbolg starting in 3-6 for even better dodge and offense. Drafting him can save 3 turns in 1-4 thanks to his great offense. Abundant BEXP allows him to promote as soon as 1-7 in NM.

Cons: Bad durability. Bases are inadequate for a level 4 myrmidon. Sword lock means inferior 1-2 range.

I give him a 9.5/10

I'm going to give him a 9, despite the fact that I've never actually had him in a draft.

In other words: my advice is untainted by experience.

Lol Wind Edges for most of game.

And I could say that Zihark and Mia exist, but this is a mass rating of edward, not those 2

His bases suck but his growths give him a boost, specially since he's usable from the very first chapter of Part 1. Innate Wrath is a plus. 1-2 range swords also suck but they're still useful, somehow. Quite good performance.

You know we're talking about NM, right? And in a draft, where Edward gets every XP ever, the only chapter he's 2HKOd in is 1-P.

Edward is not even 2HKOd in 1-P. Not even in HM iirc.

But yeah, being fed most of the experience with those growths means he really doesn't have any significant problems statistically.

Hes 5HKO'd in 1-P actually. He gets 2HKO'd only in 1-1 if he didnt proc def/hp. That is easily solved with the dracoshield though. Which he will probably get in a draft setting.

Is he? I had images of him dropping to Wrath health after 2 hits, which would suggest a 3HKO as opposed to the 2HKO I suggested.

On the other hand, my points is just being further proven - my "facts" aside.
