Celice
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Px927dhea4 This video is some years old, but it's still pretty interesting. But then it got me thinking: has anyone heard of any projects which use the telemetry of Google Earth to make some dirty geographical landscapes? It wouldn't be completely accurate, but at the same time, it's incredibly feasible and freakin' interesting if something like in that video were to be made with Google's resources. You'd think some budding research group would have already tried this, but then again, look how long something like Audiosurf took to come to actual fruition. mmKALLL
That looked like an interesting thing to research a bit.
Phoenix
I kid you not, while I was watching the video, I was wondering what it would be like to fly an F-18 around in it. Lo and behold, an F-18 shows up seconds later in the video The video made the world seem a little small, though. Maybe because the acceleration to orbit was so quick. It's extremely difficult to tell just how high up the 'camera' is.
