Lightli
Ok, here's the basic gist of things: The visuals are messed up. Now I did try to take a picture via PrtSc, paste into Paint, and save it, but when I opened it up on THIS laptop, it came out looking completely normal. So since that didn't work, you'll have to make do with a description of what's wrong. Everything basically has several after-images to the right of it. This includes DOS text that shows up when the system first boots up. I personally think it has something to do with the monitor connection, but I'm not certain. This...probably is the wrong forum to ask, but can anyone help?
Inactive Account
Yeah, that sounds like problem with the monitor connection. I'm assuming this is a desktop? Also, I did a quick search, does this look like it matches your problem? If it does, it might be more helpful than me, I'm not that much of a hardware person. http://www.geek.com/forums/topic/monitor-afterimages
Integrity
It sounds like it's very likely the monitor connection or the meltdown of the monitor itself. If you have another video out port on the rig, plug the monitor into that. If you have another cable, use that. In a perfect world, if you have another computer, plug the monitor with the same cable into that and see if it still has the afterimages. If you want more from me (typing this in class) add trollprince on Steam for a little closer talk and I'll do my best to sort you out.

You know that auto-set thing that monitors do? That ISN'T affected by the afterimage bug. So time to get a good cable? also I could totally beat you at TF2 without having ever played it before; I've played DOOM and actually understand that I'm not supposed to work by myself. If you don't have a spare cable sitting around, by all means get one. It's ALWAYS good to have backup cables, and they're like $cheap.50. no you couldn't you incorrigible cockhound, i am mr. team play himself. <

Lightli
Well, that didn't work. Tried the new cable, and now NEITHER works. Time to buy a new computer?
eclipse
Test your old compy out on a new monitor first. If that doesn't work, then it's your compy. . .
Integrity
As I previously said, test both ways. Any extra ports, try with both cables. If you have an extra monitor, hook it up to the computer. If you have an extra computer, hook the monitor up to it (again, try multiple ports with multiple cables if necessary) and try that. If you don't have any of this, well, it'll be impossible for us to make the call and it's cheaper to buy a monitor than a computer.
Celice
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but do you have a videocard or an on-board graphics thing? Also, you could hook your laptop to the monitor if you're still thinking that's the culprit. I didn't really read the thread, but hey, words.
