_Void_
I have never played this game before and figured it would be an entertaining challenge to do a PMU run for my first playthrough. Also, I must shamefully admit that I have never played FE3 either, so I don't know any of the characters. Or the story for that matter. Rules and stuff: - I'll use a guide to figure out how to recruit people and what the MU creation options do (I don't necessarily want to ruin the most available unit in the game). Everything else will be completely blind and figured out through trial and error - H1, Classic Mode - After looking through other PMU threads for this game, I guess 13 units including Marth and MU is the way to go - I gather that there are some super-powerful DLC items, like a Rainbow Potion or something. Whatever they may do, I don't have them. Same for unlockable stuff if it exists - If non-chosen units are fielded automatically, I'm free to use them for that chapter (but I likely won't be using them much anyway because I don't want to waste Exp) - I get to choose character classes myself. Since I also haven't played FE11 (I have played 5 - 10, I promise!) I have never reclassed anything in my life, so I'm gonna mess up classing horribly regardless. That's part of the fun, I guess - Due to the nature of a blind run, this will be mostly a casual playthrough over an efficient one. I'll try to not mess up turncounts TOO much, but it's definitely not going to win any awards for speedy completion - Feel free to give me bad units but at least try to make it somewhat feasible to beat the game with no prior knowledge, thanks! Units (13/13): - Marth - MU (Will be a Pegasus Knight because I like them) - Jeorge - Yumina - Norne - Luke - Ellerean - Darros - Ryan (always as bow user, alright) - Wrys - Katarina - Jake - Frey

_Void_
Okay, it begins! [spoiler="Pregame] Responsive gameplay sounds promising enough, let's get this started! Looking like a generic FE character, but I like her. After taking a look at the possible bonuses I could have given to her I didn't feel like calculating the best setup and just went with the first one that came to mind, Noble's Child/Kindness/Recluse I'm sure there are better setups out there, but for a Pegasus Knight she looks decent enough to me. In case you care, this is how her stats look like atm (unless I miscalculated something. Unfortunately, being a maths major, this scenario is all too likely): HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res base 18 6 2 10 10 3 6 6 and 8 Move, baby growths 60 50 15 55 60 60 35 10 I'll probably reclass her to a Knight or something for a few levels so she can gain a bit more defense, but after that it'll be back to Pegasus. But I think that's enough preparations, I want to head into battle! [spoiler=Prologue 1] Woah there, I thought running in the corridors was prohibited! Also, your name is actually K? What kind of sadistic parents would do that? I sense an ongoing theme with this translation patch... Sorry, I had to ._. Look, this guy's name is also L! And he has green hair, just like me. J-RPG logic suggests that we are related, though I'm not sure if I want to be related to that guy. He looks kinda stiff. Screw this, looks like I'm not going to learn any names from this game and I get the feeling that I just insulted one of my characters. Probably. Oh, look! A useless Exp sink! Even I know this guy, and that's saying something. But enough of the moonspeak dialogue, just let me beat up people~ After some glorious options setting time, I double the generic soldier dude for a ORKO but take 5 damage in the process. Luckily, that leaves me with 13 HP, just enough so Jeigan/Jagen (Now even the spelling is confusing me) can only 3RKO me since he does 6 dmg on hit with no crit chance. This means I get to keep my Vulnerary, yay! Now I know why they call him useless. Level Up time! ... ..... ....... .........seriously...? *reset* Second time goes much better, though I would have liked a point in Strength. Oh well, that would probably be asking too much. And my unit actually gets to meet Marth, all the fangirls must be jealous. Future posts will contain multiple chapters, I just wanted to officially kick this off right now. Also, there will most likely be less dialogue scenes and more battles.
_Void_
Since the Prologue Chapters are so short, I'll be a bit more specific with my decisions and everything. Later on I won't be commenting every single move, don't worry! [spoiler=Prologue 2]There's a bit of story introduction, I assume some big country is invading other ones and Marth is traveling around to save everyone or something. The usual stuff. Who is she? She's pretty. She also looks kinda similar to my unit. Anyways, I just start the chapter and get to fight the obligatory red and green Cavaliers. Turns out that stiff looking guy really is one of my future units. I also get the first addition to my team, Ryan. Let me see, obnoxious looking archer boy with green hair and a four-letter name that starts with "R". Can't say I've seen that before. *coughcough* Let's just hope he does better than Rolf... Now, with a likely horribly weak archer like him it would probably not be the smartest idea to attack Luke since even combined forces with Luna can't kill him in one turn and attacking would mean putting him in range of both enemies. Yeah, doesn't sound like the best plan. So I'll just put him on a fortress for now while Luna moves to a square just outside of Rody's movement range to lure out Luke. Just as planned, Luke attacks me and gets doubled. I want to feed Ryan the kill, but Luna is too strong to weaken Luke any further without outright killing him. Guess I'll have to attack with Ryan then, even though he can't kill in one shot. I could blame not getting the strength level up earlier on, but it actually wouldn't have changed anything since he misses the kill by a whole 3 points. Ryan is just too weak... With nothing better to do, I send Luna to a fortress for free recovery while I wait for Luke to attack Ryan. Next turn, Ryan finally manages to finish him off. Congratulations, you killed my future party member. Now I realize that Luna can't reach Rody in a single movement from the fortress. Whatever, I'll just place her on a forest near him for terrain advantage. Rest of the chapter goes just as expected, Rody attacks Luna, gets doubled and then finished off during my next turn. Could have finished it a turn or two earlier if I hadn't been so paranoid about healing with the fortress, but who even cares. Okay-ish Level Up. I'd really like some Strength now, but at least I'll double just about anything. Ryan is probably going to be a pain to raise. [spoiler=Prologue 3]The next chapter actually looks a bit intimidating, since everyone can move pretty much anywhere and my guys are not exactly tanky. Stupid small maps! At least I get a Cavalier for my party. So I'll just play it save and assume a fortified formation. The one in the front is Luke. Ryan is actually out of reach of all enemies, hooray! I'm just hoping that the AI will attack into WTD if I position everyone like this. Doesn't really happen that way, looks like H1 AI is actually somewhat capable. An axe dude attacks Rody and drains more than half of his HP with a single swing. The other axe fighter attacks Luke and misses, but the swordfighter decides to team up with his buddy and actually manages to hurt Luke quite a bit. Now I'll have to transition into a formation that allows Rody to stay safe since he'll be killed otherwise and even though he is expendable, I don't like to lose units. First step is to kill off that pesky swordfighter. Like that. This also creates a nice empty spot where I can put Rody. You don't need that anymore! Ryan and Luke's combined efforts manage to kill off another axe dude, and suddenly this chapter looks a lot nicer than it did before: The enemy will probably attack Ryan next since he can't defend himself but he should be able to take a hit. ...that's what I thought... Pictured: Suicidal enemies Yup, didn't expect that but I like it. Now for the (very pretty) Pegasus Knight. Ryan would be the obvious choice for an easy kill but I don't want to directly approach with him, so Luke will have to lure her out. After looking at her stats I figure out that she'd double and kill him in his current state, so I'll have to recover on a fortress for a turn. Or waste a Vulnerary use, but I don't like that idea. Whatever, with a slightly refreshed Luke on the next turn, I switch to Lance to avoid WTD, lure her out and everything goes according to plan. Now for the finishing blow. Don't let me down, please don't let me down, kiddo! I think we can become friends after all. After the chapter, there's some more dialogue that I don't understand - I should probably look for a translation guide. Whatever. When suddenly... ...a wild question appears. Great! I'll just answer with Yes since I'm a positive thinker. What bad could possibly come of it? [spoiler=Prologue 4]Onto the next chapter! Why didn't anybody pick Caeda for me? Seriously, she's probably going to be the first unit I'll raise in a future playthrough. Instead I get Wrys, who looks like a pervy old dude and is apparently a Healer. Better than nothing, I guess. With a bow-using enemy around, I can't really play agressively or I'll die. So more defense it is. At first I tried to block everything with Luke and Luna, keeping Ryan and Wrys behind them for support, but that didn't go so well. So now I decided to just block off the narrow chokepoint with Luna only. Oh, and Luna took Caeda's Lance since she won't be needing it. Ryan stands next to the wall to lure out the enemy archer. Wrys gets into position for some healing action and Luke decides to take a break after the botched first attempt. Enemy phase goes as expected, everyone rushes towards Luna and the archer attacks Ryan... ...who proceeds to 2RKO him. I'm starting to like this guy. Wrys gets some healing done and everybody else just kinda stands around. Oh, and Luna levels up! Holy, I'm getting some good level ups in this game! And because that is not enough luck yet... ...she proceeds to crit during enemy phase at 6 displayed crit. Largely useless, but it saves a turn I think. After most normal enemies have been taken care of and Athena gets into attacking range I decide it'd be a good idea to let Luke get some action and hopefully grow a level. With Wrys' healing and Rody's Lance he should be able to stand up to her no problem. Oh, and Ryan decides to crit some guy at 2 displayed crit. This is getting scary... If I'm having all of this luck right now, I know that the RNG won't be nice to me when I really need it. It's always like that! Luke proceeds to defeat Athena during my phase. Hopefully he'll get a decent Level Up! Meh, not great but I'll take it. I'm starting to get the feeling that this guy won't be doubling much, at least he hasn't so far. In fact, he's been doubled by both bosses he encountered so far. Let's just hope that future bosses have lower speed stats... Wrys heals again, but just to make sure nothing can go wrong I use Luna to block the enemy from attacking Luke. Since there is only a lone swordfighter left, I could just end it right now but instead I wait another turn to get a bit of additional Exp for Wrys. Besides, the crits already saved some time so it averages out in the end. Enemy attacks Luna, gets doubled and barely survives. Wrys heals, Ryan finishes off the last remaining enemy and gets another Level Up. I'm really happy with my level ups in this playthrough. What are this guy's growths? Surely nothing that would make this a common occurance? Anyways, I now officially like this little fella. This chapter turned out to be easier and more straightforward than the last one even though there were more enemies. But I suppose when you are getting RNG-blessed like I am right now, that might change some things. [spoiler=Character Stats] Lv HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Luna 4 20 7 3 12 13 5 8 6 Ryan 3 20 9 0 5 6 3 7 0 Luke 2 21 8 0 5 7 4 7 0 Wrys base I also noticed that my current team only consists of green-haired people with four-letter names. And a bald one, but I'll just assume that he'd have green hair as well if he grew some.

_Void_
Okay, I'll do my best to comment on the dialogue parts. Hopefully it'll turn out decent. (Challenge to self: Let's see how long I can keep a semi-coherent - if nonsentical - plot going) I also read through the article on reclassing to get the gist of all the rules/restrictions and how everything works, and it said something about how Falcon Knights are only available through Elysian Whip promotion. Do I get one through story progression or do I need to open some specific chest/do a sidequest of some kind? If it's the latter, I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how to get one - I really wouldn't mind getting a Dracoknight too much but I still much prefer Falcon Knights ^^ [spoiler=Prologue 5] Dialogue color-coded for your convenience. Huzzah! Luke: Okay, you have done well so far. Your basic military education is almost over. Luna: Could someone please remind me why this guy is teaching me? I'm clearly the superior warrior. Luke: Don't get cocky, you'd never beat me in a straightup fight! Luna: Remember Prologue 2? Luke: That doesn't count, you had help from Ryan! Besides, I didn't really try. It would be rude to beat a girl. Luna: Aren't you supposed to prepare me for the cruel reality of war? I'd imagine that real enemies wouldn't hold back... Luke: Would you please just drop it? Anyways, I'd like to start today's lecture. You'll be training together with Katarina today, since she always fails this lecture horribly. Katarina: You're so mean! Can't you stop bullying me for one second? It's not my fault that this lecture is retarded. Maybe the only reason I'm failing it is because the teacher is incompetent?! Luke: Don't make me laugh! But enough of this, Luna, today's topic is camouflage and concealing yourself. It is of utmost importance to blend in with your surroundings when facing large armies or infiltrating enemy territory. You might be able to see a major flaw with Kat's outfit... Katarina: What do you mean, I have way more fashion sense than you! Luke: I'm not talking about how stylish you look. Just two things to consider: First, we are trying to hide in a forest. Second, you are purple from head to toes. See the problem? Oh, and by the way Luna... Your pink armor doesn't hold up well either, but your hair is perfectly green so I guess I'll let it slide. Katarina: Stop picking on me, how is your outfit any better? Forests aren't blue, you know! Luke: But forest shadows are! Haven't you been to art school? Rody: I've got to admit, he is right. You really ARE easy to spot. Really. Katarina: I've had it with you guys mocking me like that, I'm done with this! I will find a better teacher, you'll see! Rody: Guess there's no cure for stupidity. Looks like you'll never realize the superiority of green armor. Ryan: Umm... Sorry to interrupt you, but could we finally begin our training? Katarina: Woah, you startled me! I didn't even see you! Luke: Well, duh... ***At this point Katarina storms off angrily, so she won't appear as a playable character in this chapter. How unfortunate. Meanwhile, outside of the forest: Bad Guy-chan (I'm sure that's what the "B" stands for): This world is so colorful, I can't take it anymore! How could anyone like this? It's not realistic! If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has taught me one thing, it's that BROWN is realistic! And that's the best game ever, how could anyone not love this immensely realistic, BROWN game? I'll brownify the entire world! BROWN!!! R-chan: I dunno, I kinda like green... Bad Guy-chan: WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR FACE! ***For some reason, our heroes managed to overhear this conversation and swiftly decided to stop Bad Guy's plans to rob the world of its colors. The lesson is cancelled since camouflage would change anyway if this guy succeeds. Priorities are important! Unfortunately a few gameplay-screenshots were lost, but I'll try my best to recreate what happened from memory. Athena joins but since I won't be playing her, immediately gives her sword to Luke. Caeda hides in the top left corner to stay out of combat. A weaponless Rody sits down on a fortress and does the only thing he's useful for: Act as bait. Luna rushes straight down and ORKOs one of the archers, staying out of range of the second one. Luke attacks one of the axeguys with his sword. During enemy phase, one of the axefighters attacks Rody, another one suicides on Luna and drops his Vulnerary. She also gains a HP/Str/Skl(/Mag) Level, which I'm alright with because I could use some more strength. Luke is attacked by the second archer and the thief, which leaves him at 1 HP. I believe that's everything important. At the beginning of my second turn... ...screenshots start to appear again! Merric: Oh no, the defenders of a saturated color palette are in trouble! I need to help them! Besides, I see some pretty ladies over there - I'm sure it will be easy to impress them with my magic powers. Girls dig magic! Luna takes out the second archer, Luke finishes off the thief and levels up. I'm not really happy with this guy so far... Oh well, I'm sure he'll manage eventually. I'd really like to feed the last regular enemy to Ryan, but he's not able to finish him off by himself, Merric ORKOs the guy and everyone else has either already moved or is weaponless. I really should have let at least one of them keep their weapon for a scenario like this. Since I can't afford to let the enemy run rampant (He'd probably kill Luke next turn), Merric gets to kill him. Bye bye, Exp... In a second instance of bad planning on my part, Wrys is out of range of both Luke and Luna, so he gets to heal Rody for his experience. This is why you plan ahead, kids. Now it'll take a while to get everyone back up in health to face the boss. Next turn, Wrys heals Luke but since even the stupid Bandit manages to double him, he can't even stand next to him without full HP. Screw you and your speed stat, Luke! Merric gives his Fire book to Wrys since he may or may not have a use for it after promotion. Ryan draws closer in hopes of participating in the boss battle after all and Luna gives her second Vulnerary to Luke (I still haven't used a single Vulnerary up to this point, I'm quite proud of myself haha). I could just have her wait next to the boss in order to weaken him, but at this point I still believe that a one-round kill with combined forces is possible and I want to feed the Exp to one of the others. Turns out to be a stupid decision in hindsight since it wastes a LOT of time. And I should just have done the math instead of assuming... Again, on the following turn Wrys heals Luke. And this time he actually levels up! =( Whatever, you're a healer, it's probably okay. Despite having been healed two times already, Luke is still a point or two shy of being able to face the boss/not getting ORKO'd. Curse you! I'm getting impatient, so I just have Luna wait next to the boss now (I should have done this a turn earlier) because she's the only one who doesn't die in a single turn. Even though she's not at full health AND faces WTD. During Enemy Phase, she gets hit pretty hard but still manages to double him. Or at least she would have if she didn't score my first miss of the run (NOOOOOOO!) Wrys heals Luke to full who is now FINALLY able to sit next to the boss for a turn. Just to show you how tedious and unnecessarily long this fight would turn out to become, I'll add a screenshot for every encounter with the boss. At least the guy missed his second attack. Since my patience is running low, I have Luke take a Vulnerary even though I'd have liked to conserve them but I guess I wouldn't be using them much anyway and they don't exactly sell for a fortune. They just heal so little... Wrys heals Luna and I end my turn again. This is dragging on for way longer than is justifiable... The enemy hits both attacks this time, but it really doesn't matter. An end is finally in sight! Wrys heals Luna again for Exp Now, I'd love to give the kill to Ryan but... Yeah, not gonna risk it... It would probably work but I don't trust the RNG. I could have Luke kill him (he has 100 Acc), but for some reason I forget about that and Luna gets to finish him off after all. So all that waiting I did so Luke or Ryan could gain some Exp turned out to be wasted time. I'm apparently very good at this game! Bad Guy-chan: Noooo, realism will prevail! You'll seeeeeeeee! On a happier note... ...Luna continues to be broken as all hell. After the battle is over, Merric approaches Luna. Merric: Hey there, sweetie! Luna: Um, what do you want from me? Merric: Did you know that I am The Great and Powerful Merric, famous across all continents for my incredible magical prowess? Luna: Actually, no. I didn't know that. But I like magic, could you show me some? Merric: Sure, wait a second ***For a short while he is looking for something and appears to be getting angrier with every second that passes Merric: Oh no, that old pervert Wrys stole my magic tome! And I was so close to getting laid! WHERE ARE YOU OLD MAAAAAAAAAN?! Meanwhile: R-chan: I like colors! Woman: No, seriously, what's wrong with your face? Some time later: Marth: Thank you, everyone, for saving our beautiful country's colors. I wouldn't want people to admire my beauty in a monochrome, brown world. But this war is far from over - the bandits you defeated today may have been a small and unorganized pack, but the invasion has already started. And I'm not talking about some harmless invasion, I'm talking millions of crazed teenagers who praise Modern Warfare as the best game ever concieved by a human mind and want to make everything "realistic". That's a scary thought, so I require your utmost attention and loyalty in the upcoming battles. For our kingdom, no, for the entire world - we must save the colors! Also, Katarina asked Luna a question but the screenshot was lost. She probably asked if purple is a nice color, so I answered with "Yes". [spoiler=Prologue 6] Luke: Luna, Sir Jagen wants to see you. Luna: Did he say what he wants from me? Luke: Not really, but it's probably about your training and the bandit incident yesterday. Luna: Oh, okay. I'm off then, see you later I guess. Ryan: Don't you think you should have warned her? Luke: I don't know what you are talking about, now get lost! Ryan: Don't play dumb, you know that he's going to instruct her on safety measures. And you know perfectly well how deadly the narcotic effects of his speeches are! Luke: She deserves it, she said she's a better warrior than me during yesterday's training! This'll teach her! Katarina: Well, she's right! The only reason you get to teach anybody is because Lord Marth likes your blue armor! Luke: Shut up, or I'll have you fail even more courses! Katarina: You are so mean, I hate you! ***Katarina runs away again, she likes doing that Meanwhile: Jagen: ...and that is why the edges of your secondary weapons are always to be kept pointing away from your body. Now onto the norms for packing your equipment... Luna: Can't... keep... eyes open... Please make it... stop... Half an eternity later: Jagen: Okay, that's it for today. I'll prepare a test for you to check if you understood everything. Luna: Is it finally over? Thank god! Jagen: Did you say something? Luna: Uh, no, sir! Very interesting speech, sir! Jagen: Good. For the next step in your education, I'd like to introduce you to someone who will focus on improving your tactical skills. Frey (at least I think this is Frey, he's a character you guys gave me so I know what he looks like): So you are Luna? I've heard about you, they say you are a surprisingly capable warrior at your young age. Luna: Thank you sir, I am doing my best. Frey: That is admirable, but even the greatest warriors will fail unless they learn to organize their resources and allies. I will teach you how to best operate a base camp, which will be essential in your future endeavours. Frey: So, the easiest way is to navigate this menu. You see all of these options? I will explain what they do... Luna: Wait a second, did you hear that? Frey: Huh? I didn't hear anything... Luna: It sounded like the fourth wall was brutally shattered! Frey: I don't know what you are talking about... And then I actually get to control the base for the first time in the game! Let's check out Conversations for now, I might get some vital information - or more moonspeak, I'm not quite sure. Something about the Fire Emblem? This sounds important. Oh, and there is an option to talk about myself. Girls love talking about themselves! Luna: Wow, this is interesting. Is this a flashback? Frey: It is not the past that you are seeing... Luna: Wait, what do you mean? What does this show? Frey: You saw the future. The future that will happen if you don't manage to stop the invasion. Luna: You mean... All that talk about making the world monochrome shades of brown wasn't an elaborate joke? Frey: Indeed, this is the sad truth. All of our hopes rest on your shoulders now, please save our world. May the force be with you! Luna: Uh, why would you put the fate of the entire world into the hands of a new soldier who has not even finished her military training? And more importantly, how did you show me the future? Are you breaking the fourth wall again? Frey: I don't know what you are talking about... But on with the gameplay! Who needs five units? Definitely not me. Cecille joins the fray with some improved equipment for everybody to carry. Couldn't she have arrived while I was still in the base, so I could actually trade and equip everything? Whatever. Luna rushes across the map to kill the archer while everyone else cuddles up in a corner because not a single one of them is capable of surviving even one turn otherwise. That's kind of sad, really. Cecille gives a Steel Bow to Ryan while they are so close. Looking back, I should have used a trade chain to equip Luke as well but I don't think that would change anything about my turncount for this stage. Can you spot the one competent unit? The soldiers attack Wrys and Luke, while Luna manages to handle both the boss and a mage at the same time. Luke finishes off his attacker during Player Phase... ...and finally redeems himself. Luna retreats towards the bride and uses a Vulnerary. Wrys heals her back to full while Cecille weakens the remaining soldier and Ryan finishes him off. Exhibit 1: German organization, even during battle. In case you are wondering, Wrys would survive with 1 HP if the mage attacked him. During Enemy Phase, Draug attacks Luna and gets doubled. The mage goes for Ryan and takes an arrow to the knee face. On my turn I have Luke finish off the mage. Cecille rushes forward and trades Luna a Steel Lance which she uses after getting healed by Wrys (Lance Weapon Level up). Ryan then knocks out Draug with his Steel Bow and recieves his very own Vulnerary for doing so. In addition to the Vulnerary he also gets an HP/Skl/Lck level up. Just when I started liking him, I'm disappointed. At least this is the first chapter after P-1 where I'm actually happy with my turncount. Incredible, I know. Draug: So my good friend Jagen wasn't lying after all, you really are pretty good. Have you ever had a nice talk with him? He knows great stories, I could listen to them for ages! You know, one of the best ones is about this... Luna: He definitely learned from Jagen, somebody please kill me... A long, long while later: Katarina: Hey Luna, Jagen is asking to see you again. Are you free? ***Obviously, the only sane answer in this case is "No" [spoiler=Unit Stats] Lv HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Luna 6 22 8 4 14 14 6 9 6 Ryan 4 21 9 0 6 6 4 7 0 Luke 4 23 10 0 6 8 6 8 0 Wrys 4 16 0 3 6 7 4 3
Kngt_Of_Titania
You get your first whip in C11...it's hidden in the sand and is located the fathest away from starting position. Relevent map is here: http://www.serenesforest.net/fe12/treasure.html There's a second in C16 in a chest (too bad I can never get it in LTC without giving up a Physic or a Bullion(L)). However, you may already have most units promoted by then.
