fuzz94
So I have this map for my prologue chapter and its really nice Like so: BUT, when I try to insert it, it looks like this I know it would have something to do with nightmare and the object, tile config and palette but i can not find out which ones to use. Help?
Jubby
It's in the tileset name. In order, basically so 1C1D1E1F you'd use 1C for the first option, 1D for the next, etc...
deranger
Chapter data editor I believe. For whichever chapter that is. (prologue, 1, 2, etc.) Watch Arch's Event Editing for Dummies videos on youtube. This is is video 1.
Chocolate Kitty
OH that's just the sacae tileset which probably wouldn't look half bad with the right tileset and the same palette... but i think I already answered your question via PM so why did I post here
fuzz94
some how the map is in even worse condition. I plugged it in and changed the tileset and palette and this happened: I tried it in a clean ROM and the same thing happened.
Nintenlord
Where are you inserting the map to?
fuzz94
What do you mean? As in game wise or as in Hex Value

fuzz94
i was plugging it in right over the original maps offset. Is that not something that should be done
CT075
chances are that will override a lot of important things depending on how big your map is compared to the original map for example you may have fucked up the tileset or the palette read: start over
fuzz94
Damn. I was hoping for a way around that. Oh well
Jubby
Probably that's what happened. I'm pretty sure the tileset comes right after the map, soooooo yeah. Edit: ONLY INSERT IN FREE SPACE UNLESS YOU ARE 100% CERTAIN IT'LL TAKE UP LESS SPACE THAN THE ORIGINAL
fuzz94
Thank you, all of you. It works now
Jubby
Goodie :3 That shouting edit wasn't specifically at you, by the way. Goes for anybody and most anything involving inserting graphics, maps, music, etc, so yeah, figured I'd just leave that there.
