Ein
Etrian Odyssey 3 Minimal Death Challenge Rules - You are allowed to choose and build any classes and parties to your liking. - You are allowed to have as many Guild members as possible. - You are allowed to Rest a Guild member as many times as you'd like. - You are allowed to retire a Guild member whenever you'd like whenever possible. - You are allowed to dismiss a Guild member whenever you'd like. - You MUST start a New Game. No New Game+. Please be ABSOLUTELY sure that you want to do this because this can mean dozens of hours of lost playtime. Or your precious file that is basically 98% complete that more than likely has well over a hundred hours of playtime. - Please post your current score with each update. If you cannot recall what you exact score is for an update make a rough estimate but please don't go overboard. - We will be going by the honor system so please be absolutely honest with your progress. ---------- What do I mean by a minimal death challenge? Exactly what it says! Try to beat the game with as few deaths as possible. There will be a scoring process. Each player will start off with 100 points and you can go negative. Whenever a Guild member is killed or petrified in battle you will lose 1 point. Whenever a Guild member is revived, from death or petrification, you will lose 2 points. A game over will cost you 10 points. The number of party members who were killed or petrified in a battle in which you got a game over will not count towards the -10 points from said game over. Rage quits will be treated as game overs so, for example, if you only lost one or two party members in certain encounters keep this in mind. Now for the fun part. You CAN score positive points. You can score these points by defeating main game bosses, optional bosses, sea quest bosses, and pasarans. As to how many points you can score will depend on which boss. I will insert this info into the opening post at a later time. Defeating a pasaran will net you +2 points (max +100) although these little puffs of fluff are annoying to catch AND defeat so I honestly don't expect anyone to kill 50 of them unless you REALLY want to win/improve your score. >_> If any participants have any questions about items, skills, or strategies I MIGHT be able to help but I'm certain there are other knowledgeable players and you can find the full info on that stuff somewhere on the web. I really only know about certain classes and skill mechanics. Anyone willing to participate just let me know and I will edit the opening post. I will also edit this post to display your current score. Obviously, the winner will be whoever can beat the game with the fewest deaths. Anyone willing to take on the post game under these parameters is welcomed to do so. I know I will. Then again the 6th stratum feeds on your tears and anguish but so does the rest of the game so yeah...
