Celice
8-bit interpretation of satellite and map data. Otherwise known as awesome. It's been up since yesterday (as in two days before April 1st), but I didn't see a thread about this really nifty gimmick :) Thought I'd share in case no one noticed. Try visiting some monuments and sacred sights for some cool little 8-bit icons. Parthenon, the Tower, Area 51, Mt. Fuji--all those cool places. There's also a few easter eggs hidden around, like at 0,0, and randomly (apparently) monsters are strewn about in secret locations. My guess is Google's secret bases are located here :xI'd post a bunch of example places but that'd be a lot of copy/paste. You guys should share some of the cool easter eggs found in this joke :p
Thor Odinson
Just found Mt. Rushmore :D This is so much fun. Hopefully Google keeps this around after April Fools is over.

shadowofchaos
Looks like Dragon Quest >_>. Seems like the fruit is slow to the punch. My response? "It should." For goodness sake the intro music when they turned on the cartridge. 10 seconds in:
Klokinator
I hope someone rips it off their site and saves it, just in case google DOES remove it after april first. I have a feeling the people who made this would be uber pissed if all their hard work were only viewable for a couple days though xD

How does stating what they were obviously going for make me "slow to the punch" >_>? Posting any reaction on a forum makes you slow to the punch by that definition, technically. Celice
Google also has a few other jokes going around too, like these Google Chrome's new Multitask Mode and a couple others. It's fascinating with how much power Google has, they still flaunt such cool nuanced jokes. EDIT: Tang, it's because, I think, that was a pretty obvious statement that anyone could have made XD except for these young things
Tangerine
Yeah well you can't make me put effort into my AF reactions >:O. Plus a friend showed me on MSN well before I saw this thread so I didn't have much to say, but felt like commenting .
