[spoiler=Basic class descriptions]Swordsman They're like the Landskecht and Gladiator so yeah. Fortress Tank class that use maces and clubs and hammers. Medic ...If I have to explain this one then there's something seriously wrong with the space time continuum. Sniper Archers. Yeah. they have Bind skills and can attack any enemy on any row. Support class but unlike their Troubadour past selves they can use offensive skills to aid in combat. Rune Master Spell users. Their spells can hit enemies on different rows. Mystic They seem to be tree people or something. They can use Magic Circles with a variety of effects from imbuing elemental properties to the party's weapons to healing. One more hidden class. :< Oh yeah. The enemies have their own front row and back row but you can only attack the front row unless you use a specific weapon or skills. Yay... :|

Ein
I rather like the Mystics actually. That and how skinny they are. I just find it amusing. I'll post a basic description of the classes later.

Maji
I'm only in the second strata on the first one, but this is awesome news! From the little bit I've played, I am definitely a future Etrian Odysseyfag, and hopefully 4 will be out by the time I fight through the first three. Dat spike in difficulty between the first and second strata.
Emeraldfox
Dat spike in difficulty between the first and second strata. Eh? Seemed like the difficulty got lower when I hit the second stratum. Also, awesome. From what I've seen I've already have a team in mind.
Ein
yes but what's the release date Ein? July 5th for Japan. And I guessed correctly. woo~ As for the release date we actually care about I say 4 to 5 months after it's released in Japan.
Mystical Mermaid
Having been a fan of the series since the first game, I'll be looking forward to this. It's a shame the Prince/Princess class was removed since that was one of my favorite classes from EO3. However, from the way it sounds most of their abilities have been split among the Dancer and Mystic classes. It's nice to see the Medic is making a return over the less healing-specialized Monks of 3.
Integrity
Yeah, Monks were kinda ;/ Especially because I got into the series because of the hot Medics Ein showed me from EO2 (?) and I expected them in 3.

Yeah, Monks were kinda ;/ Especially because I got into the series because of the hot Medics Ein showed me from EO2 (?) and I expected them in 3. Hot Medics? Uh... I guess you mean the blonde Medic... But she's more beautiful than hot and saying she's hot would be an insult to her beauty. And Monks are awesome. Stop making me regret getting you to play EO! You don't even listen to the music. ;~; Oh yeah. As for your question eclipse, I have no idea. I wanna say that the Medic and Mystic would have gathering skills but Atlus could just do what they did in EO3 and let every class be able to gather stuff. The Farmers just needed less Skill Points to gather 5 of every item anyway.

And Monks are awesome. Stop making me regret getting you to play EO! You don't even listen to the music. ;~; idk I just remember thinking "goddamn I need her on my team" And Princes were better at healing than Monks, 'cause trickle heals forever were the best. And I played most of my EO3 at school, so I have an excuse for not listening to the music, so there.
Mystical Mermaid
Monks were the best healers in EO3, but in comparison to the Medics of the first two games, they were less specialized at it. I always felt compelled to level their martial arts skills as well, or have an overall weak frontline unit. I found the best strategy to be having my Monk keep my Princess' HP full, and let her passive healing handle the party. Medics have much less in the means of offense (I think they have one skill and it's not so hot), so you can keep them in the back line and have them focus solely on healing. Ein
I can see you two lack sufficient EO experience... The Prince(ss) passive healing skills stop being as useful as they were during the 3rd stratum. The game starts throwing environmental hazards and AoE attacks in random encounters much more often. I guess Monarch March and Triumphant Cry are still decent but Triumphant cry only heals a set amount as does Monarch March. A simple Party Heal from a Monk is far for effective as it is immediate and Amritas become available relatively early on although you still need the Green Algae to make them... Huh... As for the Monk's offense, a hammer is enough to make their offense decent in either row. They're busy healing and getting rid of status ailments most of the time anyway. The Medic in EO1 had one of the strongest attack skills in the game hilariously enough. >_> Integ, that's not a valid excuse to not listen to the music. In fact, you would be doing everyone around you a favor by exposing them to Yuzo Koshiro's work.
MonkeyRacer
I'm going to have a hard time making a team with all these awesome classes
Ein
Lack of Shogun and Protector or a better and more badass armor design for the Fortress make it hard anyway.
Emeraldfox
Fun Fact: I kept a Princess and Monk in my party the entire time in EO3. And in EO2 I have a Medic and War Magus on the same team.
Original Alear
Fun Fact: I kept a Princess and Monk in my party the entire time in EO3. And in EO2 I have a Medic and War Magus on the same team. I'm not saying that war magus is useless, for all i know it's the best class in EO2. But I don't hav eany idea what it's good for because I never used one. Same with Beast. Except, isn't warmight supposed to be good?
Ein
War Magus is part of the cookiecutter party of EO2 so they're kind of good and make Medics less useful. Beast is all kinds of sad. ;/
Ein
The final hidden class is revealed. No name so far but they wield mechanical swords of some sort. Pff... Hahahaha! Badass Gunblade using class coming through! So the blonde female Protector, older male Medic from EO 1 and 2, and the black male War Magus took a few classes in becoming badasses? I like it. Also, rare shiny enemies show up sometimes that are worth a good chunk of exp. Not looking good for the return of the pasarans. ;~; Also also, I like the cover art parody of Riviera: The Promised Land on the bottom right of the second image. ATLUUUUUUUUUUS!!! When will the orange Medi girl make a a return/cameo?! I know she's still super popular damn it!
eclipse
Here, let's see if this helps: Shiny Pasarans. Imagine the amount of experience those would have!
Ein
Not really. We already had the gold pasaran and it gives you crap for exp. You know, looking at the new class I can't help but get a Monster Hunter vibe from their armor and weapon.

You know, looking at the new class I can't help but get a Monster Hunter vibe from their armor and weapon. Gold pasaran isn't really as rare as a shiny, is it? I've never even seen a shiny in pokemon. I'm not sure if the armor really looks that MH to me...? Looks more like just combining zodiac/protector armor. But the weapons, ya.
