Florete
Only problem is the reviews say that the controls are rather difficult. I hope it's fairly acceptable.
CGV
MP3 was kinda difficult to get used to after the 2 GC ones, but I got the hang of it
Florete
I just the call for his game and the called it Oh-kuh-my. That is just horrible.
Zephrion
Hm, it seems April 15 is the shipping date. I guess it won't hit stores until tomorrow at the earliest. (At least that's the case where I live.) Oh well, I can wait a day.
Wist
Can anyone who has played the PlayStation 2 version, and now intends to purchase the Wii version, make a personal and independent assessment of how much the Wiimote affects the efficiency with which one can use the Celestial Brush, whether or not the occasional frame rate drops have been ironed out, and if load times are noticeably superior this time around? There is conflicting information about some of these concerns from reviewers. I have been contemplating purchasing Okami as a gift for someone, but, if I do make the purchase, I want to buy the version most easily played. Any pertinent information is very much appreciated. I will when I get it. And you may have to buy this one, the PS2 version is practically gone. It was difficult to find last year, let alone now. Wist
Thank you very much, and please don't feel pressured to rush; the recipient's birthday is a month away. As you say, the PlayStation 2 version is difficult to find; it will thus inevitably be a little more expensive than its Wii counterpart. I am, however, willing to spend the extra ten or fifteen dollars if the Wii version is in some way inferior. That will probably not be the case, but I want to be certain. Zephrion
In my opinion, the controls should be a lot more fluid with the Wiimote. The only problem I forsee is that of outside interference, which can mess with the Wii's motion sensing capabilities... Other than that though, the only other gripe I've heard is the fact that the Dodge command is broken. (Though there is a chance that bug was squashed at the last minute.) Florete
I've played this now, and though I am only about an hour in, I don't think the controls are as bad as the reviewers say. You might screw up a few times, but only as much as, or maybe a little more than, the PS2 version anyway. If you haven't played it, go for Wii. Wist
That is good to hear, thank you for the quick response. When you reach more complex fights or environments, can you tell me how potential problems with the frame rate compare with the PlayStation 2 version, if there are any? I suppose it would also be beneficial to have confirmation as to whether the dodge command is broken, as suggested may be the case by Zephrion. Again, thank you; I very much appreciate your help. Zephrion
Just beat the first real dungeon. I am really liking this game... Honestly, I think it rivals Twilight Princess. One question though... At the beginning of the game, Issun says you should keep multiple saves files, in case you miss something important. Are there any times in the game where this can actually happen, or is it just scare tactics? No spoilers pl0x.

Zephrion
Cool, one less thing to worry about. And for Wist, it doesn't seem like the Dodge Command is too bad... It just doesn't always dodge in the direction you want it to. However, I don't use it much anyway, since the combat isn't overly difficult. On a final note, the Susano Powerslash sequences are awesome.

Metal Rabbit
how similar is this game to TP?
Zephrion
There's many aspects similar to the Zelda series. (The creator even admitted to being inspired by it.) There's dungeons, crazy boss monsters, no shortage of puzzles, a solid storyline, and the motion sensing is awesome (albeit the fact that it comes with a bit of a learning curve.) Personally though, I think the only reason this game is compared to TP in particular, is the fact that you play as a Wolf. If you enjoy playing Zelda, then definitely check it out. At the very least, rent it to see how you like it.
Florete
It's similar to Zelda, but not in the way that you would feel you are playing a Zelda game.
