TheEnd
Unless you want to be useful to certain somebodies~ That requires too much foresight, as you can't really do anything with the Japanese you learn until ~2 years of study

Original Alear
I wanna learn latin because I wanna be able to recognize those sciencey terms and stuffs =D I think you might learn more of those terms from biology or law school or philosophy. Maybe it depends on your textbook and teacher though. I did like latin though. But I learned more latin maxims/sayings/axioms from ~50 creds of econ than ~20 creds of latin and english courses with a focus on ancient rome. I did learn one thing in latin though. CARTHAGO DELENDA EST.

CARTHAGO DELENDA EST. I dread the day I learn college-level Biology ;~; I only got a C in high school Biology! But besides that, I can never really remember things well enough just by looking at terms in a book or something because I probably only pay attention to them once. Maybe if I just learn the language as a whole, it would be easier for things to stick in my head. Latin at least sounds like a very interesting language to learn, to me~
Emeraldfox
Waaah waaah I learned a new language and I'm regretting it waah. But I will say you make me wish I hadn't slipped on practicing my Japanese. But still.
Rehab
I may have heard learning more than one language is good for either your mental health or lateral thinking or sommink, if it's any consolation
Original Alear
I dread the day I learn college-level Biology ;~; Well...college level biology is a major, not a course...are you planning on majoring in bio? Latin at least sounds like a very interesting language to learn, to me~ I think it is an interesting language to be able to understand enough to read something in Latin that was written by someone who spoke it (even if I had a butchered understanding compared to reading the english translations). The process of actually learning latin was interesting for me mostly because the teacher was really awesome compared to my HS language teachers, the class dynamic was fun, and there was more focus on reading things that were written for an audience that knew latin rather than an audience that was learning it. I may have heard learning more than one language is good for either your mental health or lateral thinking or sommink, if it's any consolation They say you know you're making progress when you dream in your second/third languages. Well I need to take at least one biology course though. No it's not my major but for what I want to do, taking one or two course levels in Biology is recommended for me. Heehee yeah it would sound interesting to read =D And that sounds like it'd be fun =o
