Genuine Uncertainty
Alvis has a silver blade as well has his signature Fala Flame. Which I never never seen him use in 6 playthroughs now. 1) has anyone had him use the silver blade 2) does anyone know why he has one in the first place
Icon of Sin
It's probably just in case someone has their resistance so high and their defense so low that he'd do more damage with it. For example, Lord Knight Celice with capped Resistance (18), a Barrier Ring (5) and Tyrfing (20) would take 27 damage from Falaflame (70-43), but if his Defense is at class base (7), he'll take 40 damage per hit (47-7) from the Silver Blade. Then again, Falaflame does give Defense and Resistance, so the AI could think it's better to take less damage and deal less rather than deal more and take more. riariadne
I don't think he ever uses it regardless of the situation. He might as well not have it.
BrightBow
I'm pretty sure, it's there for atmosphere. To show, that he is not just a squishy wizard anymore but the sturdy foundation of the now grumbling empire. Genuine Uncertainty
In no way is Alvis a squishy wizard, what with 40 defense and resistance. And I think 70 HP.
Book of Ereshkigal
What are Sage! Alvis's stats?
Konnor97
Well, I believe that if you don't pass down the Silver Blade, that is the same blade, so that's where you would get it.
BrightBow
In no way is Alvis a squishy wizard, what with 40 defense and resistance. And I think 70 HP. He has merely 60 HP and 8 defense when you meet him for the first time. Considering he is already high level there, that isn't too durable in perspective. Anouleth
Well, I believe that if you don't pass down the Silver Blade, that is the same blade, so that's where you would get it. According to this site, if you don't pass the Silver Blade down Blume has it.

Genuine Uncertainty
Sage!Alvis only has FalaFlame. Emperor Alvis is the one with the Silver Blade. Sages can't use swords :P
Guy Starwind
I have never seen him use it. In fact in my hack I got rid of it and gave him a silence staff and meteo. Speaking of Alvis I put him to sleep for the first time last night.
Mekkah
Maybe he uses it if you Silence him with Mag Ring Claude!Sety?
Icon of Sin
Maybe he uses it if you Silence him with Mag Ring Claude!Sety? I don't think that's possible since he has 40 Resistance with Falaflame. Magic rings don't stack AFAIK, so the max you could get would be 35. Refa
Someone hack in Julia in Chapter 9 with Narga and test it out. Maybe they were like, what if Alvis got silenced, before latter giving him that +10 RES bonus or somethind, I dunno. Icon of Sin
The Silence Sword would work in theory, since status swords always work when Resistance is over 30, but it's unused.
Sartek
Someone hack in Julia in Chapter 9 with Narga and test it out. Maybe they were like, what if Alvis got silenced, before latter giving him that +10 RES bonus or somethind, I dunno. Since Narga doesn't give any boost to magic, she would be stuck at 30 (35 with a magic ring). Best bet would be to give falaflamme (and major fala) to Sety, max his magic and give him a magic ring to reach 45 mag (Tinny, Lana and Corpul could reach 42 by this method). Easily done with cheats, and certainly less painful than trying to make Julia playable in chapter 10. BrightBow
At this point, wouldn't it be way simpler to simply hack in the Silence Sword? Or lower the Res of the Emperor class or of Alvis himself? Edited November 10, 2012 by BrightBow
