Narga_Rocks
Has anyone heard of this manga/light novel? It's awesome!
Blademaster!
I've heard of it I think, but all I know is the name. Would you suggest reading the LN or the manga?
Helios
What's it about?
Narga_Rocks
http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Mahouka_Koukou_no_Rettousei Manga is only translated 11 chapters but the LN has 3 volumes translated plus two chapters from the 4th volume. You could read the manga first, but it took 10 and a half chapters to finish the first volume of the LN so it's easier just to read the LN from the beginning. It's one of those stories that is set in our world but there is magic in it. Late 21st century it's set at a magic (high) school. The main characters are two siblings in first year, born 10 or 11 months apart. The sister is the top student in first year in the school, and her brother, well, anything about him is spoilers really because of the way they introduce him. I don't want to say too much about it since half the fun is the unexpectedness of what Tatsuya (older brother) does. Suffice to say the story runs the gamut from typical high school stuff to interschool magic competitions to terrorists to defending against other countries. Oh, and it started as a web novel, which wasn't translated beyond summaries. http://www.batoto.net/forums/topic/7065-spoilers-light-novels-web-arcs-full/ The first volume is a dead link, but the rest works. The translated part of the LN covers the first 1 and a ~half volumes of the web novel, and there are 6 web novel volumes, and the summaries are pretty long, so you can get a reasonable idea of what happens during that. Blademaster!
I read the manga because it would've been faster to do. Didn't really have much of an opinion of it. Not good, not bad. MC and his sister are too mary-s/tueish.
Narga_Rocks
I read the manga because it would've been faster to do. Didn't really have much of an opinion of it. Not good, not bad. MC and his sister are too mary-s/tueish. I'm not sure I'd call every single character with story breaker power mary sue/stu. There has to be more than their power level to make him a mary stu. Tatsuya isn't even liked by very many people. Yet, anyway.
