Brendor
I know its not really a hacking question per se but I need help on this one. I decided to get a flash card to play some of my ds lite games that I either can't find or don't work anymore like Shadow Dragon, Phantom Hourglass etc., but I'm getting a new 3ds soon for FE13. There are different kinds of flash cards like one for the ds lite one for dsi 3ds etc and I'm not sure which to get. the games I wanna play on it are all ds lite games but I'll be playing them on a 3ds. Please halp.
Arch
R4i 3DS is what I've got. Works like a charm on the 3DS, and every other DS too.
Brendor
but will a ds lite card work in a 3ds if its only ds lite games on it? I'd rather spend $5 as opposed to $20...
Arch
What "DS lite card" are you talking about? It really depends on the cart, that's the only way you can tell whether it will work on 3DS or not. My flashcart only has DS games on it (there are no flashcarts that can emulate 3DS games). Google the name of the cart you're looking to buy to find out whether it's 3DS compatible. When it comes to flash carts, if you've got a question, it's probably been asked several times before. Though, from what I understand, only carts designed for the DSi and beyond will work with a 3DS. I might be mistaken on this, but I remember hearing that when I was shopping for my cart (an R4i 3DS Gold). Crimson Red
if you want a flashcard that can emulate DS games on a 3DS system, you're going to spend more money. end of discussion. as for which flashcarts can/can't, either do your own research (it's not hard: http://www.google.com) or ask on a forum dedicated to this kind of thing, as opposed to a Fire Emblem forum
Brendor
well honestly my biggest concern was that I wanted to play the translated FE12. so that'd work on r4i 3ds right?
Jubby
it would work on any 3ds-compatible flash card. Just look up if it's compatible with the 3ds and if it is, then it'll work.
Crimson Red
That specific game, with the translation patch applied, has been tested to work on the r4i-3DS so assuming you follow the instructions of the flashcart etc. you should be fine
