A glitch for the mercenary class.

In battle when an Mercenary/Hero isn't attacking they toss their sword in the air. If by some chance a unit attacks them while they toss their weapon the sword will float in mid air! Example: Gregor got attacked by an enemy unit while tossing his sword. He blocked the attack but his sword was floating in the air while blocking. When he striked back the sword reappeared in his hand.

I'm no expert but I'm guessing this has to do with the way the tossed sword's motions are programmed relative to the main body model. The designers probably just didn't think to program special animations to handle them blocking/dodging/taking damage mid-sword toss, so they didn't. It doesn't seem to screw up the game in any way, though it is kinda funny to see.
