I'm looking at the averages hosted on Serenes, and it looks like Warrior Ross who went through Fighter, on average, ends up with 1 less speed than Warrior Ross who chose Pirate as his primary promotion. http://serenesforest.net/fe8/average/ The same appears to be observed for Paladin Amelia, Great Knight Amelia and Sage Ewan, with slight differences in average stats depending on the tier 1 promo chosen.
