Okay, I made some progress.

I did two changes. Changed something in the System Options of the Menu, and deployed only 19 of the 20 possible slots. The camera still showed me the corner, but now it moved back to my party and I could begin to play.

Hmm... now I have to see which of the two things promtped the game to not freeze. Although the camera change makes me think the game is failing to do something... hmm... time for further testing.

Oh noes :( Fractured ankles aren't good.

Sitting waiting for the oil to get changed in may car. Then it's off to grab a bite for lunch.

Mm-hmm. I can walk on it without any support now, but only for a few minutes or so

I see, I see. I imagine it's done now? It doesn't take very long to change engine oil

Okay, changing the menu but deploying all 20 freezes the game.

It seems that for some reason I can't deploy all 20... oh well, looks like I have to just use a team of 19 then... no big deal...

Okay, now this got weird.

Deploying just 19 units? Freezes.

Back to menu switch and 19 units? It now freezes despite working before.

Hmm... now I wonder if...

Okay, it seems I found what seems to be problem.

I can't deploy all 20. This is now impossible to get over. However, it seems that not just the 20 limit, but Hikaru as well is causing the freeze. Why Hikaru? Beats me. The only thing I could guess is that when he got shot down back in in Stage 67's first map, something must've happened. At first I had no idea, but looking back, now I suspect. Since he came back at Level 60, and I'm sure he had a higher level when defeated. Something happened that de-leveled him and now I can't deploy him at the final map. So without deploying Hikaru the game won't freeze as long as I don't use up all 20 slots.

Well... now that I bypassed the game freezing... it's time for the final map!

With this final party:

Macross

Ra Cairam

Gunbuster

Daitarn 3

Forgetting dreams you want to remember is so =(

That's why I always try to write down the dreams I've had right after I wake up. The problem is that when I wake up in the middle of the night, I'm usually like: "Eh, I'm too tired, I'll do it later," and I go back to sleep and then forget the dream.

It's more I forgot one specific element that I want to remember.

For being the final map, there are not a lot of enemies. Of course, this will mean more will show up.

To start with, it's Laodeccia in the Hellmoth, 4 AI-controlled Antinoras, and... Oreana and 6 Garuda Clones.

Yeah, here we fight the last non-OG enemies of the game, and such honor went to Oreana of all people. To my suprise, she's not even aknowledged, all the talk before the battle was just between Laodeccia and the party. Even at least a few lines of dialogue between her and the Combattler team would've sufficed! Oh well...

Thankfully, this is an easy start. The Garuda Clones in their Big Garudas can't hit worth anything. Laodeccia's Hellmoth, however, can be troublesome, since he has W-Movement, and the Hellmoth has a 100 ammo 1-11 range attack. Thankfully not his most powerful one... but still...

Time to take care of the rabble first.

Also probably something minor, but I remember that the "real" Garuda was referred to as Garuda 11. Back in Stage 65 4 other Garudas showed up. And here are 6... haha, all together they do make 11. Anyway...

At this point I'm taking the turtling path. For now only the Garuda Clones move if they can't attack, so I just move my units out of just one of their range, let that lone one come to me, take it down, and position myself to lure out the next...

Well, nevermind, the Antinoras now move as well. Well, the Garuda Clones are still easier to deal with, so I'm taking down the Balmary mechas first.

Okay, two Antinoras destroyed, as well as three Garuda Clones. Without counting Laodeccia and Oreana, that's half the enemy wiped out. And now even Oreana moves to my position. Well, stopping for now. Will continue Monday.

An oil change takes about 20 mins, but I had to wait in line because apparently Saturdays are busy for oil changes. I didn't think I would have to wait that long in line.

Got done at 12:31pm, ate lunch, went grocery shopping and then took a two hour nap once I got home.
