Disinnocence
I've been seeing around the interwebz that everybody pretty much hates the name.Seriously, is that bad?I think it's kinda cool...
Parrhesia
It's a really stupid name, yes. 'Bravely default'. Fucking hell.
eclipse
It's Engrish, but at least it TRIES to describe the game itself.
MRDRHAWK
much engrish such language kawi titl wow
shadowofchaos
You have to be Brave when using the Default classes.
Komeiji Koishi
You have to bravely default on your taxes. But yeah, it's supposed to mean something, but the translation muddled the title.
bookofholsety
hey, Squeenix is responsible for Bravely Default; what else did you expect? still has a better name than basically any modern Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy game, if not exactly by a huge lead Edited February 15, 2014 by bookofholsety
shadowofchaos
But yeah, it's supposed to mean something, but the translation muddled the title. It's Engrish in Japanese too. "Bravely Default: For the Sequel"
NoNameAtAll
It's Engrish in Japanese too. "Bravely Default: For the Sequel" At least the original version's name had a subtle throwback to the Final Fantasy series. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy The subtitle is actually quite genius. Call it a hunch. As for the title, who cares. I prefer the game itself. One should simply question why they didn't continue the 4 Heroes of Light title when this game is obviously a spiritual successor to 4HoL. Hell, the nemeses battles use a medley of two songs from that game.
Refa
Bravely Default -> Braviary De Facto -> America De Facto -> AMERICA FUCK YEAH I bet I just blew your mind (either because that was amazing or incredibly stupid, mind blown either way). peener weener
yeah my first reaction was "what is up with that name it sounds fucking stupid" so it was explained to me and i said "so it's actually REALLY fucking stupid" also f# a# oo is the best choice good job Edited February 15, 2014 by Stolypin Necktie
Komeiji Koishi
One Google search later, I learned that the title means to "have courage and renounce the promises and responsibilities that are expected of you". Or, somehow, Bravely Default. I don't know, in context of, at least, the first several chapters the description makes sense, but still, the title... peener weener
yeah nah they just slapped the two names they'd made for their neat feature together
Refa
man what if all of the games did that, then we'd have award winning video game titles such as V.A.T.S Active Time Double Raid Linear Motion DSS Morph Ball Henshin A Go Go Press Turn (I couldn't think of any more)
bookofholsety
"Henshin A Go-Go" actually doesn't sound all that bad, relatively speaking
Agro
It's actually grammatically correct, but yeah, very engrishy. Also it describes the game's two core mechanics so why not
Tryhard
Divine Divinity was the most redundant, and stupid name I can recall.
Icarusu
Go to Life options, then select Default All Bravure. then..you have that weird name. Edit: Bravely Default sounds like a translation that google translator would give. Edited February 15, 2014 by ~I̶caruş~

Alfred Kamon
Meh, it sounds perfectly fine to me, but again I'm not a native speaker soo... In any case the subtitle is pure genius, and I think that whoever gets to chapter 5 will agree with that.
Sifer
Bravery Default sounds kind of bad I agree. But it makes sense for the mechanics.

Nobody
I think SquareEnix has someone specialized in creating weird names. Theatrhythm, Duodecim Dissidia, Dream Drop Distance and of course, Bravely Default. I wonder how they're able to come up with stuff like that. Pull My Devil Trigger
I always found Final Fantasy a bit weird too :/
MRDRHAWK
I always found Final Fantasy a bit weird too :/ Especially since none of them are the final one
