Angus smiled at the ghost's... joke? He supposed it wasn't really a joke, just a fact. He opened the door, and walked in. In a way, he was kind of expecting something more than just another plain room in the inn, just due to the ghost thing, but he supposed that would be silly to expect. "Hey there. What happened to Maja? Is she okay? I've been out of things for a little while."

"She was exhausted. The battle really took it out of her. All that healing." He slowly sat up and looked at the archer. "Angus, right? She should be fine. I hope. It's just her being tired, hopefully when she wakes up, she'll be ok. How about you? How did the battle treat you?"

"Yeah, it's Angus. If it's just tiredness, she'll probably be fine." he suppressed a yawn himself, then continued. "It went well enough for me, the new bow I got already paid for itself, I think." he paused for a moment, then continued. "What about you? I went off with Joel and we ended up busting out Sonia, the girl they had locked up, so I didn't really see what happened with the rest of you that well."

As everything was going on, Kendeall let out a small laugh. Even after all we went through today, there's still nothing that shakes these people... I'm liking this... He thought to himself, as he headed towards the inn's door. "Oi, boss. I'm headed to the town square. I'm gonna see if there's any interesting merchants out there." The axeman called out, before exiting and walking towards the town square.

"... I got hit by one blast of magic. It was bad but I survived. Other than that, well, physical weapons don't do much against me." He shrugged. "I'm not exactly a good fighter but I do what I can."

"Eh, don't worry about it. I'm not exactly good at taking magic hits either, and having a guy who literally can't be touched by physical weapons has been really helpful in the battles I remember so far. Things probably would've gone a lot differently had that centaur guy charged us straight on in the ambush..."

Kadin shrugged. "I suppose. I just... I worry that I'll be a burden. Without my memories... and being prone to randomly gaining new ones... I don't know who I am, why I'm still here. I could remember at any time and it might turn out that I'm actually fighting against your group. That the people I worked with before my death had goals opposed to this groups. And what then? What if I'm a completely different person once I remember who I am?"

Leaving

"Hey, I never got a story out of you!" Makin shouted after Kendeall, but he'd already left. She crossed her arms, and resumed her take over of the couch. "Geez, that guy. I refuse to believe that someone's life could be so boring that they can't share a single story." A small flick of her tail's end was enough to show that it bothered her, but oh well. The couch was getting incredibly comfortable, and it was getting late. Maybe I can just close my eyes for a bit. I don't think I'll fall asleep that easily...

The Truth?

"Yes, he doesn't like to talk about it, I had to blackmail all of that out of him. Heard about the first one and he didn't want me spreading rumors around the town, so he spilled the beans whenever I wanted. I'm just trying to look out for people like you, really. And him, I guess. Oh, I was lying, by the way," she added, flatly. "About Rachel, that is. She's not actually dead, their relationship just didn't work out. She's actually still living here, down a few floors. Probably reading something right now, if you asked me. The other two women, they still happened." She nodded her head assuredly. "I do wonder what became of Celine. She was odd but always nice. I've never heard of someone just disappearing like that, either. Very mysterious..."

"Are you done, Olga?" Ingverd said, from his corner of the shop. "Just because I can't hear everything doesn't mean I don't know what you're going on about. Let the poor girl go, already."

Olga rolled her eyes. "Fine, fine, take your clothes and off with you."

It was Ingverd's turn to roll eyes. "Sorry, Valha. I'll be waiting outside." He stepped himself out with a small sigh.

Angus paused for a moment, thinking how to try and calm Kadin, before continuing. "Well, I don't know who you were before, but you don't seem like a bad person now. And anyway, we're just a smalltime mercenary group. None of us have probably done anything that serious before to get involved in something like that, so you shouldn't worry about it. The worst case scenario is maybe you were working for another mercenary group and we get to a job before they do, or something like that." he shrugged.

"You say that but..." He sighed. "Right, you don't know. Look. The one thing that is burned as deeply into my mind as the desire for revenge is the crest of Felson. I don't know why, but where we're headed... Something happened to me there. Something important. Maybe I'll get my memories back, maybe I won't but... Things could change. Maybe for the worse. I don't know what's going on in Felson, but we're getting involved and if I'm on the wrong side come the time I get myself back..." He trailed off and flopped back onto the bed, sinking a few inches into it before realizing what he'd done. Coming back up out of it, he sighed. "I just... I don't want to get Maja hurt."

"Revenge, huh..." Angus muttered, waiting for the ghost to finish speaking. "Listen Kadin. Your memories might come back, or they might not. They might... not be pleasant, but I know you're not going to turn on us or anything. It just doesn't seem like something you would do. And Maja will be fine - we've all got pretty good at fighting together, haven't we?" he tried to reassure the ghost, although he wasn't sure if it was working or not.

Blackmail? She felt guilty that she'd been listening to stories Ingverd didn't want her to hear, especially after she was called out on it. "Why would you bother lyin' about somethin' like that 'n then just tell me right after? I don't get it. Well, whatever. Thanks for the clothes."

Valha was quick to hurry out after the elf when he left. "Hey, Ingverd. Thanks for these. They're pretty, 'n I couldn't have gotten 'em myself, yeah? 'N... sorry about not trustin' you earlier, 'n for listenin' to stuff you probably didn't want me knowin', yeah? I'm just high strung today, I guess..."

Kadin just hopelessly shrugged. "You can't know that. For all you know, I was an evil overlord of Felson who was murdered ages ago and now I want revenge on the descendents of the people who murdered me. I don't know how long I've been a ghost. I don't know anything. Time's just a blur. I know you're trying to make me feel better, I just..." He shook his head. "I'm stuck laying here all night, worrying about these things. I don't sleep, I can't get drunk, I can't... anything."

"I think you would've heard if there was some tyrant from years ago who shared your name by now, you're just being paranoid." Angus reassured him. "Can you find something to do to occupy yourself at night? It sounds like just letting your mind wander might not be the best idea."

Kadin shrugged. "There's not much else to do. I can't interact with most things, everyone else is asleep. There's only so many times you can repeat the same lance drills over and over. But... hopefully you're right. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid and everything will work out."

Reveal

"Toodles!" was the only thing Olga said, as Valha quickly left.

Ingverd let out a very long, drawn out sigh, as Valha caught up to him. "Olga's my step mother." He let that sink in for a moment, adopting a bit of a frown. "And she always does that to any girl that walks in with me, even if we're just friends. I'm not sure why she does, whether she's trying to scare them away or save me from some 'disappointment'. Just because it hasn't worked out for me, doesn't mean it won't, right?" He let his shoulders drop a bit, holding onto a smile. "Even if it doesn't work out with you, I'm sure there'll be someone out there. Just gotta... Keep trying." He realized how poorly that could've been taken, quickly correcting himself, "not that I think it wouldn't work, I-I mean, you're not just another try, I am serious, just... Seriously bad at words." He scratched at his hair and looked away. "Look at me talking like we're already dating. I really should stop before I end up pissing you off, huh?"

"You're welcome for the clothes," he finally said, at length. "If you want to head back, I'm gonna stay out here for a while longer and mull over things. You're welcome to join me, but I'll understand if you don't." He spotted a nearby bench and leaned himself down on it, staring up at the stars.

Late Night Market!

"Yoooohoooo!" came a woman's voice towards Kendeall, as he entered the market. Whilst it hadn't been as bustling as it had been during the day, there was certainly activity going on. Whether or not some of it could be considered shady would be left up to any observers. Incidentally, the woman that had just hailed Kendeall was the same one that sold Lanos his barbed sword. "Handsome, you certainly look like you're a hefty fighter. Looking for anything in particular?"

"N-No, of course not..." Lanos said, nervousness in his voice. He was officially in the danger zone. "It's just that you're heavier than a sword and I'm not really all that strong and..." Lanos trailed off. "I'll shutup now."

Kendeall's interest was piqued as he approached the unusual merchant. "Hm? Oh, good evening. Hmm... I'm looking for either a strong but light axe or a powerful tome for those that are new to Anima magic. I'm not sure if you've got anything like that, but..." he replied, gazing through what she may have had and not really seeing anything he liked. Hopefully she kept the good stuff in back.

Valha listened to his whole monologue in silence. "Well, I'm not mad at you. Nothin' wrong with tryin' to find someone you wanna spend your life with. If you think that's me... I dunno. I think it's a little early to make decisions like that. But you're serious, 'n that means a lot to me. 'N even if things go in a different direction, then I'm hopin' for the best for you in the future, alright? So don't be down on yourself." She smiled cheerily. "I'll be headin' back to the inn to try these on, okay? See you whenever you get back."

The harpy tried to fly awkwardly, quickly realizing the difficulty involved due to the clothes she was carrying, and walked back to the inn instead. She ignored any conversation in favor of going to her room and changing immediately. Pleased with her new look, she gathered up Lanos's clothes and headed back downstairs to meet him, spotting him with Vriska and the other thief. "Lanos! Here, I'm done shoppin' so you can have these again. How do I look to you? Do you like 'em?"

Stargazing

He smirked. It seemed his demeanor had returned. He was truly glad she wasn't mad, though she had plenty of reason to be, in his mind. "Don't worry. The only thing I've decided is that I like you. I really would be crazy if I chose life partners after only a few weeks." He didn't attempt to stop her as she left, waving her good bye, and even chuckling a little at her attempt to fly with clothes in hand. What a silly girl, really... He leaned back on the bench and took a look at the stars shining through the treetops. "Why did I start disliking this place, anyway? It's really beautiful, when you just take the time to look at it..."

Calm

"Oh," she said, her expression lightening, "nevermind then. Anyone's heavier than a sword, duh. Unless you're throwing around a steel plate. Who would do that, though?" Vriska concluded that anyone who did that was a moron, hopping out of her chair when Valha showed back up in spiffy clothes. "Woooooow, Ingverd actually brought you to a store! And it was a half decent one, it seems. Nice." She gave a thumbs up to show her seal of unmattering approval. And. She threw a glance at Lanos, motioning with her head towards Valha. I wonder if he's too tired to get this...

Behind The Counter

"Oh, you can use magic? What luck! I've got something right here..." she said as she pulled out a rather old looking tome, and dusted it off, "for you. It's called Splash. I've heard it's very old, and I'd barely been able to get my hands on this copy. It's quite brutal, being able to even drown people. Creates a bubble of water, you see..." She began to motion with her hands to give some idea. "Stuffs them inside and sucks the oxygen right out of it. Unless they can get themselves out, they'll choke. Isn't anima magic just lovely?" She giggled, putting a hand on it. "But! This is rare stuff, and I can't just hand it over to you for cheap. One thousand coins. It's the only one I've got, afterall."

She looked him over once more and leaned onto the counter. "Say, you're not part of the same company as that bird fellow from before, are you? Been seeing a lot of mercenary looking types in the market today. You ever wonder about hiring a vendor, to handle all of your supplies?" She started to twist a finger in her hair, a sultry smile slipping onto her face.

Lanos breathed a sigh of relief when Vriska accepted his explanation. Crisis averted. Though, I should really head to bed now, before anything else slips out. Just as he was say goodnight to Vriska and Sonia and head to bed, he heard Valha call his name. Apparently she was back and changed already because Vriska was commenting on her new clothes. He caught Vriska's glance and head gesture, though he didn't quite get anything out of it other than 'look at her'.

And so he did, just long enough to take his spare clothes back, offering a brief "thanks," in the process. I can probably get away with washing these in the morning, he thought in regards to his current wear. "'How do you look'?" he repeated to himself, actually taking the time to look at Valha this time. He like the shirt, though he raised his brow at the skirt. "You look..." a slew of words came to mind such as amazing, great, terrific, wonderful, but the word his mind decided on was nothing but a mere, "pretty. I like it."

Valha smiled confidently after hearing compliments from Lanos and Vriska. "I'm glad you like 'em! Ingverd helped me with the shirt, I couldn't decide at first. How are you guys? Anythin' interestin' happen when I left?"

Kendeall raised an eyebrow as he looked over the time. It certainly seemed like it could be useful... but 1000 Gold? Seemed a bit steep... "You drive a hard bargain, lady... 1000 Gold's quite a it for an old tome like this, but... I guess it's pretty rare... You know what? I'll take it." He replied, extending his hand while slipping the tome into his pack and reaching for his gold.

"Yeah, don't worry about it. Everything will work out. We're just gonna pass through Felson, do our job and nothing's gonna go wrong. Right? And even if something does happen, we can take care of it. We're all good fighters, aren't we?"

"I suppose. We'll see. I just... I do want to regain my memories at some point but... Sometimes I think maybe it would be better for me to just forget about what I am missing." Kadin shrugged and sat back up. "I'm sorry. I sort of just dumped all this on you. Thank you for listening though."
