This is a thread for mistakes. Get outta here.

On topic: I didn't know how the weapon blessing mechanic worked in the Tower of Guidance, and ended up with some pretty weird weapon loadouts... If I recall correctly, Jill was equipped with a blessed Hand Axe.

Yeah my frist time in the tower I blessed eddies brave sword for some reason (I think due to it haveing one use left or I broke caladblog.)

Blessing a Brave weapon sounds like a good idea to me.

Blessing weapons guarantee two attacks, but their hitrates are not that great, especially if you fight Ashera. A forged weapon is almost as strong as two attacks of a braveweapon and it has a much better hitrate, if you raise it.

Hahahahaha... I didn't recruit Haar in my first playthrough. :D... howtoFireEmblem

'Twas my first FE, of course I didn't know how character recruitment things worked.

I let the DB die not knowing that they got powerful weapons that I could abuse. .... What if you found a way to steal thehammerene stave to heal one of those weps? Or *gasps* do they heal all weapons or just one?

You get a hammerne staff in 3-3 in one of the tents (chapter, you have to burn supplies). You can use it three times to restore ONE weapon. But you cannot use it for the DB until part 4, because you cannot bring the hammerne stuff to the DB during part 3.

On my first playthrough I had made a battle save on 3-13 after moving all but two of my units.I forgot that there was a hawk that on enemy phase could cross the defence line no matter what I did.

What I didn't know was that u could restart a battle save and return base....sigh

I deleted my save and started again from the end of part 2 :(

I didn't know what the battle save was so Makolov ended up dying on that damned defense chapter. He got pretty unlucky unbelievable right, and I was too far in to start over.

I overused Sothe and Ilyana and didn't train any staff user to any level of competence. This was my second FE game after Sacred Stones so the difficulty jump was rather large.

Overusing Sothe. My DB was way too weak. I'm surprised I even managed to complete 3-13, that was complete hell my first time.

Oh and not knowing that BEXP existed till part 4.

RD was my first ever FE game so I nub'd hard at it first time round. For example, once I had Volug I only used him and Sothe and let the rest of the DB practically sit on their thumbs. I also ended up losing Laura as soon as I got her and I let Micaiah have all the BEXP. What's the difference between Micaiah and the rest of the DB? On my playthroughs, the rest of the DB get HP/SPD/DEF when they level! That ended in Micaiah still being double by Knights though. I also abused the DK (bc Alondite and the whole invincible thing) and made general noob mistakes that lead to units getting killed (3-13. I charged Ike with Edward and Nolan and I swear you could see Eddie's spleen fly 60 metres).

Omg lol.

My first playthorough of RD 3-13 was literally same. I tried to fight off Ike but after tons of Battle Saves and restarts I knew my Dawn Brigade team just couldn't match Ike's strength and when Ike's team started appearing I remember saying a whole lot of "Nope. Excuse me? No, no, nooo. Everybody RETREAT. Get your booties out. We out."

My poor Edward. The buffoonery that he endured was tremendous.

RD is one of the hardest of the series on the easiest difficulty. The mainproblem is the DB. Micaiah is fragile and sort of slow. She is only useful with Thani. Laura is a walking target. She will be killed instantly even on easy mode. So you really have to baby your characters, which will be more annoying on harder difficulties.

I would spend bexp. on Micaiah, if she her magic and resistance are maxed. So she can get points in speed. And I would give Micaiah the seraph robe, you get in 1-4.

Omg lol.

Use Laura´s sleep staff to Ike. His resistance is very low, so you have a high chance to get him. For beating Ike you have at least one third tier unit, who gets a mastery skill. It is almost impossible to beat him only with second tier units, because of Ike´s very high defense. Only Micaiah´s purge can seriously hurt him.

I didn't recruit Haar...somehow. He just flew on to the map and I was like Oh I wonder who that is. Best play it safe and wait to see what he's going to do. Then he flew away and I lost one of the best units in the game.

@MisterIceTeaPeach

I know what to do now. :)

Its just... during my first playthrough of the game I didn't know what to expect and literally thought the goal of that stage was to defeat Ike. Which resulted in the abusing of Eddie.

In my first playthrough, I had realized the difference in strength between the Dawn Brigade and the Greil Mercenaries. So I mostly sat back and hoped my second tier level 5-10 DB would survive. Then the tier 3 Greil Mercenaries started to appear. And my reaction was exactly the same as yours XD

Oh yeah that was another big one on my first playthrough. I lost Mist. The dialogue made me think she'd come back next chapter so I didn't reset. I ended up forgetting about her for most of the game and only realised much later that I couldn't use her.
