I'm gonna keep track of the leaderboard thing from now on. Just from participating people automatically get 20 points. 20 points for each set won. +5 bonus for every round in winners that they won. Finally, top 5 will get:

5th: 15

4th: 25

3rd: 35

2nd: 50

1st: 75

bonus points. Do you guys agree with this?

I think that formula would work quite well. I have no objections.

This looks good on paper.

...until you realize that PJSalt has won practically every tournament here so far. If anything, this seems like a way to overpower the leaderboards unless someone says "the person who won the last tournament is not allowed to participate in the next one".

And I agree that pity leaderboard points should be given considering how many rounds are in a tournament.

Personally, I don't think I'll care about any leaderboards, but was this made up by you or is it a standard used elsewhere? Just wondering.

Also, should there be points for matches won in a set that was lost? (aka points for the 1 in a 2-1 set)

And, maybe 20 points is a lot? Both for participation and winning a set. It just seems a little odd since the only way to earn fewer points is the bonus, which isn't even separate, and winning 5th place, for which it seems...rather odd to earn less for getting 5th than for just winning a set.

I don't know. I think 10 would be better (and everything else the same), but again, it's not really a big deal to me.

It was made up by Starbound. It was meant for fun, nothing serious I think. If no one wants a leaderboard it's fine though.

it's worth pointing out that someone who loses round 1 and then wins everything after will have a total of ten victories, while someone who wins every match they fight will only win 6

so basically PKL would get 40 additional points if he forfeited round 1 every time

that being said the main issue I see here is that this system favors people who've been doing tourneys for a long time, even if newer players are considerably better than they are

people who are disqualified for reasons beyond their control should get 100

You earned 1,000,000 Golden EX Special Gemma Points. I'm not sure where that puts you on the leaderboard, but it's something.

then shall we give 4 people(including myself) last tourney those same points? You seem needlessly butthurt. I mean I can understand somewhat but you know

Crap happens deal with it.

Yeah, a lot of Shulks under-utilize his Monado Arts. They truly make him a much better character.

I've faced many a Rosalina, and a majority of them struggle to handle Monado Speed, which you did quite well against.

Yeah, you go Shulk, I'm really feeling it.

I do agree that someone who gets disqualified for reasons beyond their control should get some sort of significant points boost, but 100 seems a bit hefty.

I don't. Unless it's very clear that it was a mistake and the person should never have been disqualified in the first place. Something came up? Oh well, life happens. Missed the deadline? Your mistake, be more aware next time.

That appears to be what happened with KwehKweh/FFM. He posted saying he was ready nearly 5 hours after the matches were supposed to have happened. Really, what are you supposed to expect?

Edit: Disregard that. I misunderstood the tourney table, and I thought I was disqualified. That's not the case.

I'll get on to Elie as soon as possible.

Damn it, work told me I have to cover for someone today

I won't be able to play anyone until at the latest 8:30PM my time (roughly 5 hours from this post). I currently have to fight Febro. If circumstances demand it, I don't mind being disqualified. I'm really sorry for any inconveniences this may cause

Yo I'm here (half here for the next 30 minutes as I'm making breakfast). Bug me in #sfsmash when you're open and I'll see you in there

Samus on that stage though. It would be nice if I could fit through the tight spaces without getting my shit shot up to hell. Nothing more annoying than playing the chasing game, too. Stay still so I can kill you. And my Fox pick was just inexcusable, had no idea what I was thinking when I picked him. GG nonetheless, and GL with the rest of the games.

He's not online on Skype. I'm afraid he may have already gone off to work.

He should be back in no less than 2.5 hours, at least.
