momogeek2141
Currently as of now, I'm trying to train Est as an archer at the arena on chapter 19. However, the wagers at the arena are ridiculous, and I lose almost every single time. I am playing on hard mode. Any way to tone down the prices and difficulty of the arena? Or ways to buff Est without changing the price?
Roivann
Save state abuse. I'm not sure if dumping stat boosters on her will change the price of the arena... you can always feed her kills in the level, then take her into the arena. If you're short on gold, you can have your stronger units win you some money in the arena before risking it on Est.
momogeek2141
I'm doing it to train est. She's level 7, and I'm already seeing 1100 gold wagers showing up. If I was in it for the gold, I would have Berserker MU go in and obliterate everything. As for feeding kills, there is a ballista, and I don't want her taking any risks. Funny, Xane as that Est gets the cheaper prices.??? Edited October 8, 2014 by momogeek2141
dondon151
have you used est in the arena previously (i.e., before she reached L7) Edited October 8, 2014 by dondon151
eclipse
What you do depends on whether or not you want to recruit Roshea and Company. Regardless of strategy, I'd reclass MU to Dracoknight, and equip Iote's Shield. Also, refer to this map. Recruit the entire Wolfguard (option 1): Warp Marth to the village, while everyone else gets out range of both the ballista and Vyland's group. Rescue Roshea and Marth, have them hide somewhere safe, and when Vyland charges, talk to him. If one of those reinforcement Paladins is equipped only with a 1-range weapon (like a Silver Lance), surround that unit. Recruit the entire Wolfguard (option 2): Have MU assassinate the Thief that heads towards Roshea's village (Killer Lances work wonders), surround Vyland, and have Est chip him (but do NOT kill him). He'll have lower stats than his generic buddies. When you're good and ready, leave Vyland surrounded, while the rest of your army fetches Roshea. Screw the Wolfguard: Warp MU over to the boss and Hammer the jerk to oblivion (Starsphere/Lightsphere will make life easier). Then, you can either Rescue/Again MU out of harm's way, or have him lead everyone on a merry chase (the former is a lot less painful, trust me). That'll keep Vyland from showing up. Then, bait the paladins near Sedgar (but NOT Sedgar himself!), and run backwards to your group. Kill off everyone except for the Horseslayer dude, and surround that unit. You may need to guide it to a place that's out of reach of the ballista - have fun with that! Now, Est can chip to her heart's content. Make sure you've got a LOT of bows - IIRC, one of those bishops has a Physic. If your original target dies, you're free to give Est a Robe, and have her chip at the ballista (she'll have enough durability to survive a single hit with a Robe, since the worst of the ballista does 34ish damage. . .I'm pretty sure it's less than 37, so if necessary, give her the Starsphere in addition to the Robe). If you have Gordin's Bow, throw a bit of extra MT on it. . .if not, forge an Iron Bow (for reference, base Archer!Est with an Iron Bow does 12 damage). THEN, go to the arena, though the higher stats means that the game will simply throw more ridiculous enemies at you. . .but at least Est will have some levels under her belt! I wish you luck~! EDIT: tl;dr - The arena's going to be ridiculous no matter what, so you'll have better luck having Est gain some levels outside of it first. momogeek2141
Thanks. I can't reclass to draco because MU is a berserker and I haven't beaten hard mode yet.
LeaderR Elliot
If this is new mystery the arena is super tough and less than ideal to train units. I suggest using the one in the base one since you should have the money (inb4alreadybrokefrombasearena) A regular startegy is to take the cheapest possible bid, notice how you can exit from the arena and not lose your turn as long you haven't faced battle. Use this and take ones from 500 to 800 gold. At lower levels is preference to have WTA on enemies. For comparison sake, FE11 H5 arena enemies are as tough as FE12 Normal mode. So keep trying!!! EDIT: BTW you cannot break caps on arena. And in unpromo you can face enemy barbarians who have caps of 30 in all their stats. So be aware. momogeek2141
Basically I just abused her to level 7 (by some miracle) and then fed her kills from the horsemen surrounding the castle including wolf :(, fed her the reinforcements, and then had her chip the ballistas to death. Then she killed the bishops. That got her to lvl 20. Although I'm still confused why Xane gets cheaper prices. Est sure is a god when she promotes. Perhaps because Xane's base stats are awful, and that's what the game uses to calculate prices. And congratulations on getting past that chapter!
