Just played about a half hour of it. Similar enough, though it seems piss easy in comparison to either Ys or Touhou. Maybe I just couldn't find Nightmare difficulty.

That reminds me, I need to finish my Nightmare run of Ys Origin, but there's this one boss that is so face-crushingly ridiculous on that difficulty that I can't beat it even when I'm 5 levels above the level I'm supposed to be at. x_x

Anyway, gonna give it a try later, too.

It's been a while, but IIRC it was the secret character's version of the fire area's miniboss. I don't even quite remember what the issue was (I believe I just couldn't survive long enough to win because he takes so little damage and kills you really fast); I need to give it another go at some point.
