Fateborn
I was wondering why I couldn't steal from a boss, and why I couldn't steal from a certain mage on an attempt. Thanks for clearing that up. #shenanigan time

Fateborn
'I can see the ending!' [spoiler=Oh god, the horror] Okay new try. Instead of using Guenever to kill soldier, I use Fa, seeing as she'll be fairly slow. Echidna lands a hit and Priscilla can't Can we trade these two with each other? Danceeeeee Not bothering visiting the village, it's just a goddamn antitoxin I makes rushing and rescue villagers my top priority. Soldier had the brilliance to attack the midget dragon that can kill her if so much sucked in a bit more air. Nothing happened during enemy phase to be concern about so it turns over to me, Karla smash the mage to the left of the village. I give her first aid. Huh. I moved her here for forest advantage and... got this? Things done. Terrible! I give her a treatment, lance are brutal Priscilla pls. I kill a pegapony I still have a need of you. Things get done. Not bad, I'd like you to double. I get the worthless item. I grab one. More grabs inc. I dance Fa, so she can come and tank out enemy wave. CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT? Eirika survive a very nasty moment, for a particular level. Ends my turn. Back to my turn again. I heals Fa. I have no interest in military cut like you. Wave seems to stop... Smash These happens during enemy phase. Healing Ninian is a must. Eirika... I give Fa a treatment. Killings going on. Oh man... That's ugly. Level~ Priscilla is enjoying this. OH GOD HE MOVE SAVE ME SAVE ME SOMEONE Panic attacks Oh cool, a fake elixer. I start to send out Guenever. Serra gains a level from a freebie heal I fall back most of my girls to rear. HE'S COMING!!!!!!! I already had got this before you mentioned it Forceman. The fort was very suspicious considering the reinforcement NEVER spawned on it. lol I survive with Zephiel never reaching me. me for mvp? Fateborn
[spoiler=Sieging Rivendell] I give Echidna one bite each. SO WE STARTS HERE EH? THEY HAVE THREE BALLISTA (I missed two on first look around, but there are three) STEAL TIME I compared two spd, Limstella's faster. STEAL SHALL SUCCESS They have loads of fliers near us. Mvp lvl Guenever pokes. Mag get Two horsebirds are dead, only few more to go... One of them had guts to target Ninian. Another targets Clarine but fails. Teamwork! Skl? I start to move Ninian and Echidna to catch up to the main party. The two fliers will head down to a ... suspicious area. I moved in range of a Balista that I missed. I do reach two villages, but only one will be visitable while another locks out. I makes a choice... OH GOD. BOW EFFECTIVENESS AGAINST DRAGON MIDGET :c Eirika and Fa works together to deposit of this trash. Fa get a cure. Double is life, Double is love. Get speedier. Then cavaliers start spawning from north in batch of four each turn. I'm fuck aren't I? Echidna grabs a bulk level It become an all out war with cavalry. You see that island? It's suspicious as fuck. I do my best against the onslaught of horsegirls Eirika and Fa are plugs thinning down cavaliers' attack. Even so they still take damages if lances are used. I heal Guenever again. I need to push them back somehow. I bet you know by now what I picked. GOLDS GOOOOOOOOOOLDS MONEY MONEY Even they have limit. Guenever takes two ballista shots. Anna grind is slow and cruel. So troublesome. Anna gets her first level, and it's not bad!

TheMoniker
The map you're on is from Shadow Dragon/Fe1, except with a secondary "faster" route to the castle removed, replaced with ocean and that island. I mean, assuming you didn't know that. Edited January 23, 2015 by TheMoniker

I mean, assuming you didn't know that. I thought that was it! I think Archer Anna will serve you well. Meanwhile in my run, I'm experimenting with who does well in what promoted classes. I'm already hitting level 20 for unpromoted units after MURDERBOAT
Fateborn
[spoiler=The Onslaught Continues] MVP Healz Fa gives 0 fucks. Eirika doesn't know how to give none. Back to where Guenever heals herself. Fa looks sick. Poor Cavalier getting it all. Fa has no patience for women on horses. Sieging from distance Fucking love how iron swords does no damage to midget After getting the red gem, I send Clarine flying up to reunite with the main group while Guenever sits on the edge of balista range and recover. Pitiable fool Limstella leveling nicely. I put Priscilla on the frontline instead of Eirika. Things Fa level Kill things Gain level Echidna gains a good level. MORE TINK Anna grind is slow and dull Priscilla get low so a good shot from Serra comes on. Almost twenty! Almost cap speed. More level Clarine catchs up to the group and ends up getting attacked by a cavalier in range. Their numbers start to thin. Eirika covers for the hole that Fa left to plug a bridge. Echidna is doing well I suppose. Anna get her lv 2 again. The cavaliers finally die out. Anna lands a finishing blow on the last cavalier fleeing south. (Cavaliers started getting reinforcement from south, but by the time they reached us the north side were more or less dead.
lonelyVoxel
Anna has so much red on her, therefore she can only be one of two things: a commie or a spy. Edited January 24, 2015 by Forceman
Fateborn
Oh wow. I had lot of thrill moments on the later chapters. Forceman and I had giggles over them. So look forward to these moments. Final part to this chapter at last! (Sorry for late delivery was busy enjoying myself on this hack) [spoiler=Crossing the Moat] I get my shits moving. Ninian levels. 3 more to go~ Ballista 1 down. Cheeky little shit think she can fool around with Priscilla. Ballista bolt 1 down. Note... Ballista has more than FIVE bolts, I would assume they each have 10... I move Priscilla back and rescue/drop Ninian Heal! Time to get those last few levels! Guess I can't use Ballista. THANKS OBAMA. Knight dead. Time to afk. Burn a ballista's supply Next ballista Better luck on that ballista due to lower dodge, but hey level. Poor Limstella. That's last of shots now np. Let's charge in Poor peasants. I steals energy rings. ONE MORE~ That's rude. Chip knight. This cleric doesn't go heal him. >:c I opt to kill her anyway. MAX LEVEL Yeaaaah Good stats But... Dark is grey'd out? See the difference? That palette tho. Nopenopenope I reverts to before I promote and continues on. Level~ Might as well give her mag stats. Anna get one too. Then Limstella get the last shot. beautiful Support. Grind PROMOTE~ SUMMON HAHAHAHAHHA THIS IS PERFECT MASS DANCING! (also good for weapon burning) Levels. Klokinator
Hey, question. Does every class in this game have three promotions? Did the japanese crack getting a third trainee promotion?
Fateborn
Not every. Some only get two, while others get 3. It's interesting, I think they're adding more 3rd options, but who know?
Klokinator
Count the number of classes that get three promotions. In FE8, there are three hardcoded classes (The trainees) that get a third promotion if you beat the game and unlock the creature campaign. If there are more than three characters (Note their unique classes, as two characters both being pupil would be one class) then that means they somehow broke the limit.
Fateborn
They did break the limit. I'll show it when i get to the particular chapter showing it. They have three trainees (ross's class is replaced with guenever's just so you know) these of course has three promotion. However there are other classes that receive three promotions as well. I'll show which later.
Xtremekiwi
Just saying, giving Limstella incrased magic might not be a great idea. Remember, <25% to steal equipment. Having someone with low offensive power helps if you knock an enemy down to, say, 30% HP.
Kroko
Is there a list of all skills that each class have?
Xtremekiwi
Is there a list of all skills that each class have? From the top of my head (Sorry if I forget any) Physical classes: Sniper: Marksman (+1 range to non-longbow bows.) Ranger: Sure Strike (Guaranteed hit) Warrior/Berserker: Colossus (Adds Con stat to attack stat) (Berserker also has +15% crit chance) Hero: Corrosion (Instantly breaks enemy equipment; fun fact: Later chapters contain a lot of heroes). Swordmaster: No skill, just +20% crit chance. General: Great Shield (Halves damage taken) Paladin: Savior (No skill/speed penalties when rescuing someone) Great Knight: Boon (I assume it removes status afflictions of adjascent units). Falco Knight: First Aid (Ability to use staves) Wyvern Knight: Pierce (Halves enemy defence) (Also, if I'm not mistaken, it got merged with Serpent Knight). Magical classes: Druid: Flare (Halves enemy resistance) Sage: Cancel (Cancels enemy counterattack) Valkyrie: Slayer (Effective damage vs monsters) Bishop: Slayer, Miracle (Increased dodge chance when low on health, I assume <25%.) Summoner: Summon (I forget if it has Flare, probably not). Witch: Black Magic (I have absolutely no idea what it does). Mage Knight: Wrath (I assume increased crit chance when <25% health). I think I got them all. Edited January 24, 2015 by Xtremekiwi

Xtremekiwi
Anyway, a few more pics showing off the game's features: WARNING: MINOR SPOILERS! That's a few too many supports...yep, there's no limit on how many supports you can have. All Sacred twin weapons follow a similar format. S-ranking weapons grants a variety of bonuses. ALL S-ranks give a +5 to all max stats, otherwise they give a small variety of bonuses as demonstrated (The exception to this are staff's which only grant +5 Max stats and that's it. Also, because I'm bored: Remember the Lagdou Ruins? Just thought I'd show off what the enemies there look like (Don't have a map of the level, not that it would help as 9 times out of 10 the map in in Fog of War. No, seriously, these enemies in Fog of War. These screenshots are over the course of a few entrances into the Lagdou Ruins, but it should still give you an idea of what this place is like) WARNING: END-GAME SPOILERS! Some human enemies inhabit the Lagdou Ruins. Yes, they are very powerful. (I tried to show off, but couldn't find a druid with Fenrir and a druid with Shadowshot. Yes, Shadowshot, as in the 3-10 range Shadowshot. With those stats...*shudder*. These are probably among the easiest enemies here if only due to their nonexistent resistance and relatively slow speed. Also fun fact: Cyclopses have Colossus, so a chance of taking their con stat in damage. Now THERE's a scary sight. 50 defense, powerful attacks...again, low speed, but at least they have okay resistance. (Also, the Hell Claw poisons). Some of the more frightening wights you will find in the first level of the ruins. An undead dragon or two as well to screw with you. Fun fact: The Wretched Air halves resistance. Just in case you thought the monsters were fairly slow... Extremely high speed? Check. High attack power? Check (Even if it's lower compared to some of the others here). BRAVE EFFECT? Check and check. Be grateful these guys only have Bane and not Silencer... (The map I screenshotted this guy on has 3 Whispers on it at the start) Also, for some reason there are a few unpromoted gargoyles around as well. Granted they're still almost at 40 strength, but with almost non-existent defenses, low health and garbage weapons they're not really that threathening beyond the ability to fly. To those who read this and my previous post, I hope you found the info found there informative and/or interesting. TheMoniker
As sort of an aide to the above guy's post, you mind if I explain how reclassing works? No? Well, in FE8 girls theres an item that's a lot like a second seal. You can promote to a different type of class. Do that, and you keep your weapon ranks from your old class, and presumably their bonuses, but they're grayed out so you can't actually use them. They also keep any stats they got from their old class, even if the old class's caps are higher than the caps of the new class. So, you can have cap-breaking units. I didn't actually play the hack, I just read a short explanation of it on the somethingawful LP. So, I haven't experienced it firsthand and some of it might be incorrect. I didn't actually play the hack, I just read a short explanation of it on the somethingawful LP. So, I haven't experienced it firsthand and some of it might be incorrect. Some extra details to this: The item used for reclassing is called the Knight Crown. Each class can re-class to one of three different ones (The three are always the same for each class (AKA if you're using a Knight Crown on a Warrior, you will always get a choice of Wyvern Knight, Falcoknight or Paladin)). Secondly, after reclassing you CAN use weapons as long as you have the appropriate weapon rank (So a Warrior -> Falcoknight reclass can still use axes, for instance). You simply can't gain any more weapon rank experience, so if you have a C rank in axes after re-classing into a class that doesn't use axes, you'll be stuck with C axes until you re-class into a class that DOES naturally have axes, but you can still use axes up to said rank. Just a warning, though, knight crowns are rare and cost 40000 gold to buy from secret shops (20k with the Silver Card).
B.Leu
Where the heck was I ? You started this LP and I wasn't even here ! Man, I suddenly want to play FE8girls again ! You are going to looooove Ninian man, big time. Though I don't understand how a sexy cleric that can dance and summon a bunch of creepy dolls can be considered a "Holy woman". It's like sweet, shy Olivia who can become an Assassin. Weird. Wind Sword is a very good weapon, especially with the Hammerne dolls. WyvernKnight Guinevere is the best. Xtremekiwi: The Witch class flat out ignore the Terrain, like Tricksters, It's like she is flying, it's just crazy ! Don't hope going through walls though. Apart for that, everything you said is correct, congrats for remembering all of that ! I'm not sure how you can.
