LUCK?

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I've been an FE fan for almost 5 years. I love it. I've played through every English release (on part 4 of radiant dawn)

Still thinking about whether to play fe4 and 5 or FE12 once I finish radiant dawn...

Anyway... I love how the stats are easy to calculate in fire emblem.

But luck... What the heck?

It's for crit evade, hit, and avoid...right?

Can someone explain how it works exactly?

It aggravates me that Im such a big fan but I don't honestly get this stat.

I even know true hit and all that crap.

It affects:

~Critical Avoid

~Avoid

~Hit

~Random things, like Devil Axe backfires or finding stuff in sand.

It's important to note it does NOT affect crit. That's based on a skl calculation + supports and weapon bonus, in most games.

Luck gives you avoid at a 1 to 1 ratio and also reduces enemy crit chance. Enemy with 10 crit, you have 10 luck, they won't have any crit chance. It also affects some skills like Miracle and Armsthrift. The games where it affects hit aren't consistent I believe.

EDIT: Lol looks like I'm wrong on that. Go me.

EDIT: NEVERMIND IT DOESN'T AFFECT HIT IN ALL GAMES.

There are variances on the exact behavior of luck, so I'd advise you to seek out the 'Calculations' sections on the SF main site to see its game-specific functions.

you know the first part of saving private ryan when that guy gets hit in his helmet with a bullet but survives? vin diesel calls him a "lucky bastard," then the guy takes off his helmet, receives a bullet in the exact same spot and dies

yeah, luck is kinda like that
