How do you patch FE4?

This is probably going to be a stupid question, I know, but how do you patch FE4? I'm going to be playing that and FE5 after finishing gen one of the former after I finish playing FE8 and FE12, but I'm not sure how to patch it. And I guess while I'm at it, how do you patch FE2?

I'd say that you need lunarips, the patch and the ROM. The patching process is probably straightforward enough for me not to have to say anything.

I actually downloaded my FE3 and FE4 ROMs pre-patched off of another site (not sure if it's against the rules or not to tell which one).

I actually downloaded my FE3 and FE4 ROMs pre-patched off of another site (not sure if it's against the rules or not to tell which one).

If you are using snes9x, simply rename your japanese rom and IPS patch to the same filename (except for the extension) and put them in the same folder, and snes9x will automaticaly handle the patching for you when it opens the rom without actualy having to modify the rom file (this is called hotpatching). I especialy recomend this for fe4 because the ending is untranslated, which causes a freeze before the game tells you how well you did. THis way, you can simply save after defeating the final boss (the game lets you do this), close the emulator, rename the ips file to disable hotpatching, reopen the emulator, and follow along with the scripts linked in this forum. Some prepached roms may be the older version, which mises some things. One last thing: if your rom is unheaderend, the patch will break it. The only ways to avoid that problem are by adding a header, or by finding one that does.
