Sroy
None of these can promote to Grandmaster. Yeah, I know that, but I was a bit confused on the reply he gave me but now when I reread it I realized what he meant. I edit my post to fix it up again, sorry for being a bit dim-witted with all this and thanks for your patience. eclipse
Skills: Swordfaire, Tomefaire, Astra, Vantage, Rally Spectrum Oh look at me, helping my competition. Rally Spectrum will do NOTHING for you in a one-on-one battle (which is what this is). You'd be much better off with Ignis. EDIT: And with no swords, Swordfaire does nothing. May I suggest Focus instead? Edited May 15, 2015 by eclipse

I was actually trying to use my MU from my normal playthrough as closely as I could, but yeah, it's probably not going to do me any favors. Thanks for the help, though, I'll edit him a little bit. Very kind of you to help out, I actually overlooked the double-faire and rally issues. Edited May 15, 2015 by Sroy
Carter
I'd prefer to avoid the DLC skills that aren't Dread Fighter skills since those skills aren't tied to any classes. So Astra it is! I really hope I can hold out, at least for a few rounds! Syrene did her best in the Fire Emblem Favorites Tournament, but I hope Carter can do better! eclipse
Swapped my last skill in my sign-up. It's probably an awful idea, but I was bored. EDIT: I can go into a long spiel as to WHY what I did was a bad idea, but I figured that Vengeance would do more damage than Bowfaire once my character was out 10 HP. mercilesscharizard
Once I get a few bits of needed info from one of our contenders (I'll probably have to send them a PM) we will be at the halfway mark with submissions. ...holy ****, than has gone a lot faster since the last one! EDIT: I'm making a submission just in case it gets to where it takes too long to get all 32 slots filled, but it won't actually be officially entered until I decide it's best to do so (hopefully that won't happen). I would like to join, but I don't want to rob anyone of the chance to participate. Anyway: Name: Lucas (>inb4 confirmed for Mother 3 entry) Build: 1 Face: 4 Hair: 2 Hair Color: 5 Voice: Not like it's gonna be heard... Oh well. 1 Class Trees: Thief, Cavalier, and Fighter Final Class: Paladin Asset: Resistance Flaw: HP Skills: Lucky Seven (from Thief > Trickster) Aegis (from Cavalier > Paladin) Luna (from Cavalier > Great Knight) Counter (from Fighter > Warrior) Sol (from Fighter > Hero) Weapon: Gae Bolg Hopefully not a broken set... Knusperkeks
I'd like this to be bo7, bo9 per match preferably, to lessen the impact of rng.
mercilesscharizard
I'd like this to be bo7, bo9 per match preferably, to lessen the impact of rng. Uh......mind telling me what that stands for? Also, I don't think it will end up changing anything if I try to do something a bit different. RNG is still gonna wind up as a deciding factor in some/most matches. My hands are tied there. My hands are tied there. bo7 and bo9 stands for "best of 7" and "best of 9" respectively. The character which wins 4 out of 7 matches wins a bo7. The character which wins 5 out of 9 matches wins a bo9. I know that rng can't be overcome completely, that's why I wrote "lessen" in the post you quoted. I don't wish for anyone to get thrown out of the tourny because of some freak accident à la 3x Lethality. Increasing the sample size would lead to a more even distribution of opportunities for all characters, and it would help determine which character is overall better. Same reason as the finalists fighting more often than the pre finalists in your other tourny. Edited May 24, 2015 by Knusperkeks

Other times, however (you'll see that when FEFT part 2 is uploaded), one would have too much of an advantage over the other to make a difference. That's mainly why I'm changing the "fastest moves first" rule to a coin flip/alternation aspect so the faster characters (almost any avatar given speed as their asset) don't have the full advantage (even with being faster it did screw some of the entrants up in the last one, but this could also change with the change in rule). I don't mind people winning by a landslide for whatever reason. If somebody with Lancebreaker ends up slaughtering opponents who wield a lance, that's perfectly acceptable for me. This change aims to administer the rng aspect so people don't get demoralized from being screwed by the rng (read: the other person was more lucky). One can blame luck for losing 2 out of 3 matches, it gets more difficult to do that with 4 out of 7, or 5 out of 9.
eclipse
How 'bout the rule of "person who lost the last round goes first", and MAYBE best of five?
Bovinian
It can be either advantageous or disadvantageous to go first, depending on the respective setups that both people are running. So alternating initially, then for tiebreakers deciding who goes first with a coin flip, would be the fairest method for everyone. I think this is what OP has been planning to do already. I also support best of 5. Less likely for rng BS to happen than best of 3, but anything more than 5 would probably get repetitive and boring.
