Rapier
Hello sir, do you have time to hear the word of Avdol, our savior from Egypt? Maybe his theme song, then? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tvNN1km3Eg
Ϲharlie
Abdul is awwwwwwwwwwwright That reminds me. I saw a dog that looked remarkably similar to Iggy earlier today.
Rapier
I also want a Bull Terrier, and I want to name him Iggy. I doubt people will agree with me here, though. :V

Original Alear
Honestly, of the stardust crusaders, Avdol is my least favorite. He's still very cool.
Rapier
Avdol and Kakyoin start lame, imo, but I've grown to like them. Kakyoin, not so much, I admit. But Avdol became very cool. In order, I'd say Polnareff > Jotaro > Avdol > Joseph > Kakyoin > Iggy. His return was too fucking awesome. HELL 2 U, indeed. Garnef
Avdol's a pretty neat character. I'm a cliched asshole who prefers Kakyoin and Polnareff though. He's still cool. Every Stardust Crusader is cool. Except iggy, he's shit. Edited July 4, 2015 by Nexas
Rapier
Kakyoin also has a pretty good theme, imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6muvtMdNNM But it's so sad. ç.ç

Garnef
How the hell do you dislike Iggy... His development comes far too late.
Original Alear
His development comes far too late. Forgive me for being snooty, but why is it too late? What's so important about him developing earlier? Not everyone goes through development arcs in a nice even trajectory, so what's the problem with it?
Emeraldfox
I like Avdol a lot. See, when I was reading it I thought he was dead for real and I was sad but then wasn't because he was alive then he died for real and I was all, 'Maybe he'll come back, with robot arms yeah' but I realized he was dead for real this time and was sad and angry but mostly sad because Avdol was dead 100%. I think one of the things that makes Avdol's death kind of visceral when it first happens is that he's just there one second and gone the next. I don't think that kind of thing happens a lot to major characters in shonen stuff, they normally get injured and often get dialogue with another character, or an internal monologue. Maybe I'm wrong about this. Of course, there is the scene where he ascends to heaven later.

Rei Rei
Polnareff is hors concours. I would rank the rest like this Joseph > Avdol > Iggy > Jotaro >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kakyoin.

Rapier
CAESURA You mean SHIZAAAAAAAA And I agree that Iggy's development came too late. I didn't care about him for 7/8 of his screentime. And Avdol's death had a lot of feels, the Vanilla Ice battle was particularly awesome. He wouldn't have been shot by Lame Horse if it weren't for Polnareff, either. His come back to fight the genie Stand was awesome. Garnef
Forgive me for being snooty, but why is it too late? What's so important about him developing earlier? Not everyone goes through development arcs in a nice even trajectory, so what's the problem with it? It's more because it happened RIGHT before entering Dio's manor, making it feel slightly rushed. All the way up to that point, Iggy was pretty much shown to be an asshole who cared about nobody but himself. Sure, he defeated Petshop on his own, but due to his foolish nature, it would seem probable that just about any of the protagonists could've beaten him. Essentially, it felt like the development came just as an excuse for Iggy to save Polnareff, rather than actually ending his own character arc. Carmine Sword
I prefer Kakyoin, but Avdol is pretty cool too. Polnareff is a bit too dense for my liking, but even he has his moments.
