RalickNom
Hello.. I am currently in the hospital for 6 weeks (on 3rd or 4th week)..days are slow..so my darling wife (who I am happy say, turned into a anime watching fanatic due to yours truly) bought me a 3DS and Fire Emblem Awakening for my birthday here..I haven't had any gaming platform since Dreamcast/Gamecube days! I abstained because I was afraid to get hooked again! Lol! And I definitely got hooked on Awakening!!! Thanks..nice to be apart of this fan board..and I will be sure to bother with rather mundane or dumb questions... Like: How the heck do I pass level 5 "Exalt and the King"?!...I play on CLASSIC mode, I do NOT want to lose anybody. I've tried a couple different strategies and all result in one or more causalities. Right now I think my best bet is to gather everybody in a circle/cluster, with healers in middle, and letting them come to me..hope it works...ANY INSIGHT OR OPINION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! thanks
Bagfisch
Welcome to the community. I hope you enjoy your stay here. To Chapter 5: What Difficulty are you playing on? If it's Normal or Hard Frederick with Chrom as backup should easily handle the chapter if you're desperate. Get Ricken and Maribelle paired up with Maribelle as leader and move them to the save spot (press X to highlight all enemy attack ranges). Once you've occupied the south-eastern chokepoint get Maribelle behind your lines on turn 2. Avatar (with pair up) and another unit with a pair up partner can easily secure the south western part of the map. Then slowly work your way up the mountain, be sure to only bait out 1 enemy at a time by checking their ranges. Having Maribelle and Lissa you have (at least for this map) 2 healers so you can have one for each "front". Gangrel will be so nice and warn you about the incoming reinforcements. Should you play on hard or above ambush spawns happen (spawn+action) and can really mess you up. On normal, enemys spawn and can only act on the next turn so you can camp their spawn points. You could also block their spawn points by placing a unit on them. The rest will be simple baiting the enemy to attack you alone. Wyverns can easily be one-shotted or fataly damaged by Rickens Elwind so make use of that on one of your mages.

eclipse
First off, get well soon! Second, if you haven't already done Paralogue 1, do so! I think Lissa with a Miriel pair-up should have enough Magic to rescue the Maribelle/Ricken pair. Feel free to ask for advice on the Awakening subforum~! Lastly. . .don't forget to read the rules and all~! (end generic greeting)
