EricaofRenais
I need to install an ad blocker on my computer, because my dad will not stop clicking ads on the internet. I would like to know which one is the best free one that works with internet explorer. Thanks in advance.
Shin
You can't really go wrong with Adblock Plus, I think they have an IE version. Truth be told, you'd be better off with another browser but it should suffice.
Naughx
Microsoft is going to discontinue IE too... So you're better installing Chrome and/or Firefox. Edited July 5, 2015 by Naughx
EricaofRenais
Yeah I know and I do have Chrome, but my dad is using IE and I can't make him stop clicking ads, which is why I need the ad blocker right now. I just spent the afternoon uninstalling adware and running system checks and I want the ad clicking to stop without get in trouble for telling my dad what not to do. He is almost 70, so getting the ad blocker, even if it will just be for a while until he has to start using Chrome, is the easiest way around the problem. We share the computer so any virus or malware he finds effects me as well.
Sentacotus
Ad Block Plus. It comes default with FireFox but I do believe that it is supported on IE as well. You can even set which sites to disable it on for the ones you support and need the ad revenue. Although like Naughx said IE is being phased out by Microsoft so it might be worth it to get your folks to use Chrome like you are using. But if they are set in their ways ad block plus should still fit the bill.
EricaofRenais
I just installed ad block plus like you guy said and I like the way it works on Chrome, but I am going to have to start the task of getting my dad used to Chrome because it does not seem to work as well on IE. I am probably going to be a little bit mad at my dad until IE goes away, though because it will take it being shut down before he will stop using it and the ads are calling his name. Phoenix Wright
Ad Block Plus. It comes default with FireFox but I do believe that it is supported on IE as well. no it doesn't? that would be a marketing nightmare for firefox. also i refreshed firefox today and no addons or anything come preinstalled. i use ublock because it's the same as adblock but less system-intensive. but they're both good. Really? I could have sworn that it came with my Firefox. I don't even have the option to get rid of it.
