ruadath
Does anyone know whether or not to meet the zero funds requirement for a HHM exclusive chapter one has to "break even," or is it automatically satisfied? Paper Jam
I would guess that you would have to "break even." However, keep in mind that you can still get 3 stars from those chapters even if you don't "break even." Referring to the two charts at the bottom of (http://serenesforest.net/blazing-sword/miscellaneous/rankings/tables/): Let's say you just completed Crazed Beast and got 1 star in Tactics (of course), 1 star in Funds (because you recruited Farina), and 5 stars in everything else. That would be 40+100+0+80+90=210, which is enough (albeit barely) for a C rank and 3 stars. And remember that 5 star Experience is a given for any of the Hector-exclusive chapters. All you have to do, then, is make sure that all of your units survive (for 5-star Survival) and that every five battles result in at least two enemies defeated (for 5-star Combat). If you're going to do anything that saps your Funds rank, such as using Promotion items, do it in chapters where you know you can't get 5 stars in everything anyway. Not just the Hector-exclusive chapters, either: The Survive missions also add an extra turn, so you can't get 5-star Tactics in them either. The best time to use your first Heaven Seal is in Unfulfilled Heart, for that reason among others. Edited July 17, 2015 by Paper Jam
ruadath
Breaking even is usually pretty easy to do in those Chapters, but in particular, I am thinking of 25, because I'd like to recruit all characters (Farina). I could use the Hammerne Staff trick there, but that would sure be a waste... especially since I would have to either make to uses or find a way to really wear the Spear down in the Secret Shop chapters. Edit: Actually since Farina has roughly 2k worth of starting equipment, the Brave Bow would suffice instead and leave with with ~1k to complete the chapter. Paper Jam
Like I said, you can still get 3 stars in that chapter even if you don't break even (quite easily, in fact), and you're not going to get more than 3 stars in that chapter anyway. ruadath
Right, but I'm looking to 5 star all the chapters in HHM where possible. The only ones I know that can't be done for certain are the HM exclusive chapters (zero requiements) and Chapter 13 (not enough funds without Matthew/Serra counting as joining). Edit: Oh wait, never mind you're completely right; I don't know what I'm talking about lol (forgot this was HM exclusive, duh). A quick note, though: a C-rank is 2 stars, so I would't be able to do that for this chapter. Or, unfortunately, I just realized, any of the HM chapters; breaking even is a requirement. Paper Jam
I don't suppose you'll be grinding the Arena enough to get at least 30,000 gold going into chapter 25*, will you? Another thing you could do (if you have the money for it) is use the Silver Card to spend 10,000 gold on 20 Mend staves in chapter 25; that plus the Elysian Whip can compensate for Farina's recruitment too. You do need to make sure that Merlinus has the space for those staves, though. Actually, that's the only way. You can't use the Hammerne staff in chapter 25, because you get it in chapter 26. *Note that it is possible to do so in Linus' version of Four-Fanged Offense: Assuming three arena fights per turn starting on turn 6 (which is easily accomplished) and a 600 gold payout for each fight (a conservative estimate), you'll get 30,600 gold by the end of turn 22. ruadath
Ah, shoot. Well, I guess I'll just have to forego Farina then. Does the Silver Card work on non-Secret Shops? Edit: Oh right, it obviously does. That's a great idea, and probably what I will plan on doing. Thanks for all of the help! General Banzai
Considering the 0-requirements for HHM exclusive chapters is a glitch, I'm pretty sure they count as flat zeros, not negatives expunged
