Avril Lavigne
It appears as though I'm having trouble with the palettes. How do you change them? I changed them in Usenti and then when I open my graphics in-game on the start screen they're all still the same colours. I always return it back to it's original palette (if it isn't already) and then save and make sure everything is the same except obviously the graphics I've edited and the colour palette of said graphics. But, like I said, won't change. Help?
MisakaMikoto
I am used to locating them by an emulator and then editing them by a hex editor.
Avril Lavigne
I am used to locating them by an emulator and then editing them by a hex editor. Annnnddd how do you do that???? Haha
MisakaMikoto
As for locating them, it is included in the UT. As for editing them, it is included in the GBATEK. "Bit Expl. 0-4 Red Intensity (0-31) 5-9 Green Intensity (0-31) 10-14 Blue Intensity (0-31) 15 Not used in GBA Mode (in NDS Mode: Alpha=0=Transparent, Alpha=1=Normal)" To make it easy, color= r/8 + g/8*32 + b/8*1024 Convert it into hex and notice the little endian. Return to your question, I guess you haven't inserted the palette at all. Edited September 24, 2015 by MisakaMikoto
Avril Lavigne
What is UT and GBATEK??? Dumb it down for me I'm not that smart haha And no, I haven't inserted the palette. It's image 1369 (Title Screen Background) with palette 66AF6C. I will edit it and it's still blue (pretty much repeating myself). When I try to insert my palette the graphics go haywire and look decompressed when I try to replace the palette. MisakaMikoto
Well, UT refers to Blazer's long Ultimate Tut, and GBATEK is included in the help of NO$GBA. The image itself doesn't record any color info, so you cannot see any color changes in game unless you insert the new palette. The palette here is uncompressed, in which 2 bytes stands for one color exactly. If your image looks wired in the game, you may have used the wrong palette whose colors are out of order. If you cannot understand it, then read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indexed_color Edited September 24, 2015 by MisakaMikoto

Avril Lavigne
define starting screen? do you mean the title screen or..? Title Screen Background. You know, the "Press Start" section where the FIRE EMBLEM logo is. But that part (The FE logo) I edited to my... somewhat preference, aside from the palette--which is why I'm here haha
circleseverywhere
When you replace the image using GBAGE, check the Import Palette option, put some free space as the offset, and check Repoint Palette Pointers, see if that works.
