This has probably been done before, but couldn't find it so here you go. I stand by a belief that no Fire Emblem game is really "bad". Some games I have more than a few problems with, but there's still something to enjoy in all of them. But still, I wonder what the "worst" Fire Emblem game is. For me it would probably be the first simply because it hasn't aged that well. However, at least Gaiden is, for me at least, playable. FE1 is just really slow and clunky. And IntSys clearly knew this because they tried to remake it. Twice. But it is still fun to an extent. What do you think?

I want to note, too, that none of the games of the series is bad to me, I enjoy all of them to some extent, some of them more than others. I hope this thread doesn't turn into bashing an FE game, and rather expose one's opinion.

I have to say FE13, it simply is my least favorite, it didn't really made 'click' with me. The characters, the story and gameplay wasn't so appealing to me. I swear to God that even if I get a well done FE11 with an improved interface I would love it more than Awakening.

Edit: imo, the word 'worst' in the OP is quite misleading.

I'm similar to Quintessence in why I dislike my least favorite and my opinion of the series as a whole, even if a different game is my least favorite.

Let me just raise this flame shield first since I know I'm not going to make any friends when I name my least favorite, but Radiant Dawn would have to be it. Make no mistake, I enjoyed the game, but not as much as the rest of the series.

Of the ones I've played, FE8. Ridiculously easy, poor map design, though it does have good points.

Including ones I haven't, then FE1. Aged very poorly, and is a game that I don't really love anyways.

While Shadow Dragon turned me off quickly, I have to say FE7 because I actually played through a lot of it and therefore could make a more solid opinion on it. I just found the story and characters to not be as interesting as those of Sacred Stones or the Tellius games. In fact, FE7 is pretty boring to me overall. Its story isn't as bad as Awakening's though. Yet, I felt even Awakening had a better cast of characters. Awakening had some really quirky characters that mostly lacked depth or development, but at least they were entertaining and sometimes interesting. I just didn't find anything interesting or entertaining about FE7's characters, sans Sain and Fiora (especially Sain, because I actually love him. <3). FE7's gameplay was okay too, but I felt that that was also outclassed by Tellius and Awakening (and maybe Sacred Stones too, since I kinda liked the overworld map and really liked the Great Knight class).

Out of those I have played, Shadow Dragon. IMHO, it just lacks the appeal that other FE games have. I also consider it the worst thing I've ever played.

In the series as a whole, Genealogy. The maps bore me to sleep, and I just don't care for practically the entire cast, EXCEPT for Lana. And that's just the tip of the iceberg - I could go on and on.

It's a toss up between FE7 and FE4 right now.

My favorites and least favorites fluctuate a lot.

I don't like FE7 because it's average at everything. Character balance, map design, story, and characters all seems pretty average. Nothing is bad, but nothing really sticks out to me as super great either.

That and I hate the promotion gains in that game, it feels like a glorified level up rather than some awesome power up.

FE4 I can't sit through, while the plot is good I despise the gameplay. I hate the large maps, I hate how trading works, I hate how every unit has their own money and I could probably go on. A lot of people like it but the gameplay just never clicked for me.

I'd probably have to go with FE4 if I had to choose simply because I'm not a huge fan of the gameplay while I kind of like FE7's gameplay.

Special mention for FE11 for having Falchion being missable .

Huh. So far at least, it seems the games that always seem to be "the best in the series" in people's opinions like FE4 and 7 are actually getting the most votes. Interesting.

I agree.I haven't even played it,but it's extremely confusing to me.

Out of the ones I have played,13.It gets boring really quickly, and if I do another file I have to literally force myself through the story.Especially the first part.

judging games you haven't played isn't cool guys

even if it's something like FE1 that is probably not good you should probably play it before you judge it

I don't like fe12

mainly because avatar and ruined marth

although I'll go with awakening because never finished FE12

I have to agree with you on your opinions of FE13. Though, I don't think it's bad, just not stellar.

I agree. For the record, I have played FE1, I just haven't sat through it long enough to ever complete it.

I can't play 1 its aged poorly. 2 is rather difficult to play but it doesn't have remakes so I can tolerate it at least.

Don't get me wrong 1 was amazing but only for its time so I wouldn't rate it as the weakest FE game. But certainly my least favourite to play.

The poll should be public.

And this is pretty much the only reason I didn't vote FE14.

Now when will Jedi make the happy version of this thread, What is Your Favorite Fire Emblem Game.

I like all of the games in the series, I think they're all good. However I do believe that some games are better than others. And with all of that said, please just note that everything I say here is only my opinion and nothing more.

My least favorite game in the series is definitely Radiant Dawn.

Brom is one of my favorite characters in the entire series, and I really like Nephenee, Caineghis, Elincia, and several other characters. However, as a whole, the Tellius cast is one of the least interesting, especially in Radiant Dawn where characterization is so bad and especially when compared to FE 7 and 8 where the cast is so good. Ike was already one of the most boring and least interesting lords in the series and RD just made him even worse, and Micaiah was just as dull.

The story was a mess. Lots of things just didn't make sense, and some of it was just silly. It was broken up very weirdly, too much time was put into one group and not enough into others, and various other little things made me not enjoy it as much.

The gameplay didn't click with me like it did with other games in the series, I just didn't enjoy it as much as other games in the series.

Radiant Dawn is my least favorite game in the series.

Bottom of the rung of what I've played is FE13. Boring maps, bad plot, all of the first generation characters suck, gameplay balance leans on the two extremes of difficulties (ridiculously easy and brokenly hard). And don't even get me started on the fandom <~<

I agree and stand by this as well.

I personally found Sacred Stones overall reallllllllllly dull and not intuitive, I know people highly disagree with that stance though.

It should be an option on the side of the editor.
