Skarthe
I don't know guys. Are you all really upset about the name Kaden? I really like it and I think it's pretty cute. I like it, but there are a number of Hoshidan names where Treehouse seems to have chosen the intent of the name over the Japanese theming, which a bunch of people are unhappy over. (see: Kaden, Rhajat, Caeldori)

I think it's pretty cute too. I definitely prefer Nishiki, but Kaden's a nice name too. I'm not sure why they changed it, but I like it. Avalanche
It's a bit of an unnecessary change (given the Japanese feel of Hoshido), but I think Kaden is just fine. Plus, it isn't exactly like we haven't been given character name changes before in the franchises history. CrimeanRoyalKnight
Actually I've been under the assumption that it's "kay-den" as a wordplay on "brocade", which is what "nishiki" means anyway. As in... "broKADEN"? It's still pretty bad.
Viberum
Just a friendly reminder to everyone regarding this and translated names in the past. Reflect - Robin Liz - Lissa Soiree - Sully Wyck - Vaike Smia - Sumia Denis - Donnel Ronkuu - Lon’qu Tiamo - Cordelia Nono - Nowi Olivie - Olivia Serge - Cherche Emelina - Emmeryn Inverse - Aversa Paris - Priam Eudes - Owain Azur - Inigo Bredy - Brady Jerome - Gerome Mark - Morgan Chambray - Yarne Nn - Nah and I'm pretty sure there are more names in the older games.... Kevin - Kieran Asseray - Artur Topuck - Tormod Soanvalcke - Stefan ...and the list goes on~ http://serenesforest.net/general/localisation-changes/names/ Edited January 30, 2016 by ChocolaChao
Pete-of-the-Forge
Well the older names that were changed did come off as more Engrish-y (Lofa?). But the translation team does seem more trigger-happy with the changes now than they were in the past. Harold -> Arthur is downright gratuitous. It's rather funny that changed the ''de-nicknamed' Edward (from Eddie), and in this game we have "Benny".
